Wow, I'm having a tough time with this problem. I need to eat less . I'm maintaining rather than gaining , but it seems the hormones won't let me stop think food. how are others coping with hungry eyes.

I have turned into a massive pig since starting HRT.  Can't stop gobbling food.  I genuinely think that any facial changes I'm seeing are me just getting fatter, and I'm convinced that my boobs are just moobs.

Time to get the eating under control.  I'll blow the dust off the "My Fitness Pal" app on my phone and try to watch those calories once again.

I'm just finding it a lot more difficult partly because things seem to taste better

I did DIY hormones a few years ago and gained about 20 lbs I didn't need.  I'll be starting again soon, the right way this time, and will be watching those calories closely.

I'm still a noob and all with this but I think I actually eat less now than before. Idk, maybe I am just weird lol, but swear I get full faster. Could change later on too, we will see.

I found I ate less, even though my endo kept expecting the opposite! I think it's because before HRT I was doing a lot of emotional eating just to keep my feelings suppressed and distracted and sated. Once I started HRT I felt a lot happier so the emotional eating dropped away.

Yes, things do seem to taste a little better.

For me, it's pies and sweet food in general. Before HRT I rarely ate them, but nowadays it's rare the day I don't have them for breakfast!

I have become a gluttonous cow and I am proud of it.

What's for dinner?

wheeeee :~o

I put on weight deliberately at the height of my dysphoria (pre-hormones), just to 'round out' a bit I guess.

My endoc wants it gone now, but yeah, the devil is in danish pastry ...

at 19 on mones I gained a lot of weight, I blame my diet, SODA and the lack of exercise.  Several year later finally have things under control. #1 cutting soda out of your diet I haven't touched soda in 1o years now hell I don't remember what it taste like anymore. Fast food and processed foods are another bad one. hell the holidays alone are killer. My main problem is trying to eat 5 or 6 small snacks/meals throughout the day which helps promote better metabolism but by dinner I sometimes eat more than I should which leads to purging a battle I have fought for 7 years now. I think being single and living alone also doesn't help where you not apt to cooking as much if you do I find I waste a lot more. a great cheap meal I do a lot is grill a chicken breast a baked potato no butter little sour cream. you gotta come up with a plan and try to stick with it. good luck everyone, theres nothing better than starting off the new year with goals to improve your health and help your transition.

I try to eat as much vegetables as I can, but the CVS is closer then Whole Foods and I found a good way to cook cheap hot dogs that might not be that great of a way to lose weight.

omg..hot dogs horrible :( yay to the veggies I myself have a hard time with veggies besides green beans so I eat a lot of salads to make up for the lack of.

I think I became less hungry for food. But since I desperately needed to put weight on I forced myself to eat that extra few bites at every meal. Now I have fat deposits everywere and (in my oppinion) are that little bit more, extra gorgeous

HRT increased my appetite A LOT.

However I was losing weight? About 1lb/week. Today, however, I step on the scale and I noticed I gained two. Ah-ha! Time to start dieting again, and back to the gym I go after the holidays.

where the fat is going is a whole lot better. I definitely like the shape , but I need to tone it done a bit especially my stomach

HRT has made me want to eat much more, and I succumbed.  Bring on the chocolate and cakes! :embarrassed:

The annoyance is that I like wearing dresses, and a tummy ain't the nicest thing for them.  I'm quite skinny despite the extra weight, but in 7 months time it's SRS for me, and since I've been told I'll lose quite a few kilos during that time, is it worth dieting now only to put it on before summer so that I have some ballast for SRS??

I was initially having a pretty difficult time at actually losing weight...I would work out, but would just pretty much maintain my same weight.  However, here are some things that helped me (along with working out a few times a week):

- Definitely cut out soda and other sugar rich drinks and stick with water.
- Also, I find that portion control is very important...easiest way to deal with portion sizing is to pre-portion meals and try to be strict about not eating more than one portion (even though it may sometimes be difficult) hahaha.

Alright, well good luck!

portion control is my main problem.

Yea, mines too, but pre portioning should help a little along with sort of changing your mindset in that you don't really need to eat until you are super full.
