Well first thing you know on joining sites like these can be... how do I say... depressing at times. I mean it's probably not all that bad, but when I was on a similar site I'd message a bunch of people. Rarely did I ever get one to reply, but even harder to keep a good convo going. People on dating sites are for whatever reason kinda stuck up because they can read people's story and just automatically turn you away.

I did make one friend who I talk to semi-regularly online. so Ya never know. Maybe you'll have better luck than me.

I had good luck with OkCupid, like my girlfriend I met at Wing Ma'am, but like I talked to some cool people on OKCupid, and I was clear that I as trans on there....Granted, I only could see women, and only women could see me since, I am a lesbian, so I didn't have to worry about ->-bleeped-<-s, but it seemed to be a pretty good experience.

My experience has been kind of meh. I have a few people that I talk to, but haven't actually met anyone in person yet. My profile is using the new features to actually list my gender as Woman, Transgender, Transsexual in that order, and it seems when I go out on a limb to message a guy, they check my profile and I never get a response. when I had nothing about being transgender in my profile I had a lot more conversations with men, but when talk of going out came up I would tell them I was transgender and they would just stop talking to me. In both situations I've held decent conversations with some decent females, but honestly some of them are more of a mom chat talking about our kids.

it's kind of interesting, I haven't figured the site out totally yet though, I haven't put down yet that I'm transgender, so I've got a few divorced men checking me out.

I dislike the "meat market" sites. Tends to bring out some really shallow types. I'm never really a fan of online dating in general...

The site is not so bad, I've used it before but it's something you want to keep your wits about you with like others have said.

I've had good luck and bad luck there. Met some amazing people, and had some unfortunate encounters.

Always meet people in a public place for the first time, of course.

And personally, I made the very first line of my profile "I am a transgender woman". No confusion, no surprises.

I've met and have been dating people of various genders as a result. Once in a while it starts getting a bit hectic, and I disable the account for a while.

Have some great friends and booty calls as a result...but still trying to find "the one"

Actually...I'm trying to figure out now what I WANT in "the one". My most rewarding experiences so far have been with other trans women. Go figure. The heart wants what it wants

I have had mixed results of OKC. Some jerks, some nice people. I actually met the guy I am currently seeing on OKC. I decided not to advertise that I am trans in my public profile and only told people after we had been speaking for a while and when I thought it relevant. Of course that leads to the occasional insult or whatever, but at least you don't only speak to ->-bleeped-<-s.
It goes without saying that you need to be cautious,especially if you decide to meet anyone in person. But I don't think that is something specific to OKC. Definitely choose a public place for a first meeting.

I didin't specify that I was trans and therefore I got a lot of messages from men i would have been all about but they weren't interested in dating a trans woman, and mainly they just showed me how my life could have been if I just had the right chromosomes and I found it very depressing.

Yeah, that's what made me eventually put it in my profile. It was better then talking to someone for a couple weeks pretty much everyday and then being flat out ignored. I mean not even an oh I'm not into that just no responses.

yea, I have a feeling I better put trans up because I'm getting all these divorced straight guys with kids. It probably wouldn't go over too big once they found out.
