Hey guys,

So i started a blog back a while ago...updating it kinda regulary, so far about coming to terms with being trans and also how i am coming out to people etc, once i start T it will document all my changes and such.

I also use it as a platform to link to my go get funding page, but i have very little traffic or people donating, do any of you guys fundraise and if so how do you go about getting people to see it? Im trying to fundraise so i can start T next month. and time is quickly running out for me. I only raised a minimal amount on another fundraiser so ive had to start a new one and im worried i wont be able to make my target in time and will have to forfit T, which i just dont think i can do again.

Also does anyone know of any other FTM blogs?

Cheers Jake (PS link to my blog is attached to every post i make i think)

Unless you are a famous blogger I don't see you getting much money. I paid for my expenses all through my job.

Yea, that would work for me if i had a job. Ive been turned down for two in the last 7 weeks because im a youth worker, and they dont think the kids will take to well with 'having to call a female by the name Jake' and the other ones excuse was to maybe come back further on in my transition. I just ->-bleeped-<-ing give up

Tumblr is a better blogging platform for fundraising but you need to build an audience for that to work out. This guy got his top surgery all funded through Tumblr because he has a ton of followers, partly because he posted pictures of him almost shirtless (he works out a lot) and he offered things in return for donations. Then there's Facebook, some friends might be willing to donate.

Keep looking for a job...it will feel much better to you when you finally do get a job and are able to pay your own way.  Kindness from the general public is great, and very helpful for those who need it...but, the satisfaction of working your way toward your own financial goals feels a hell of a lot better.  People may be more inclined to donate to your goals if YOU are ALSO working toward them in some way.  Two rejections in 7 weeks is disappointing, sure, but giving up is not going to increase your chances of getting a job.  Try another type of work, perhaps?  When you reach 30 rejections in a month, then you are really trying... Hang in there, it will come.

Ah ok, never heard of tumbler. Cheers though and sharing with my friends on fb is a good idea.

Ha man, no one has 30 interviews in a month. I apply for around 15-20 jobs a week, if that's what you mean. I have this week started applying just for simple work, although god only knows how il pay off my student loan as well by that, but atleast it will be a start. And yes, it's not that I don't want the satisfaction of paying myself, I feel that is just a given...surely everyone would rather that? Thanks for the advice though.
