The lesson here, don't break the law.
That sounds like a scary proposition anyway you look at it. I can understand why an inmate might not want to be in isolation, but it opens a whole host of problems. I'm an F to M transgender, done back in '89 when the surgical procedures left something to be desired. An xy male has to worry about being sodomized or forced cop, but someone like me could be raped, sodomized, castrated or have all my genitalia removed, and I doubt there would be anyone there to stop it.
Regardless of what an inmate has done, they are still people and should be treated with respect, and that includes their "brain gender". Putting a person with a male body who identifies with the female gender would be psychological torture. I'm sure there are those who would say it wasn't fair to the other inmates who might feel uncomfortable dressing, showering etc. in front of an inmate with a male body. If the inmate's brain gender is female, they aren't going to be "checking out" the other women inmates. They deserve to be treated as the gender they identify with.
