So I went to a local clinic this past Friday to get prescribed something to block DHT.. The waiting room was packed so that was really awkward. The staff were all great tho! I still legally possess my old name so the receptionist gave me a post it to write my new name on. They were all really respectful and understanding

.. I was called to the exam room and waited there for a bit, even feeling kind of crazy alone in that little room... The LPN came in and I told her that I wanted something for hairloss and explained that I was doing this for the time being until I can get on HRT.

She was totally unfamiliar with finasteride and as soon as I explained what DHT was I think she got confused and thought it was a kind of hormone therapy.. Anyway... long story short, I didn't get anything, but she said she'd talk to the main doc on Monday (but it's snowing and icing all crazy today). So I suppose all hope isn't lost.

OH! But good news! My mom said she'd drive me anywhere I needed to go to get started on HRT in Arkansas. That made me so happy.. So I should be getting it soon.. when I can find a good option.

Sorry to hear that some people are familiar with some medications than others. I wouldn't strop trying even if that means making an appointment with the doctor to deal with your concern. Good Luck and Hugs.
