For you it's not a matter of passing but being gorgeous. You're going to have an awesome transformation.

Thank you!!!! Youre pretty smokin yourself antonia! I'm sooo friggin excited to see what the end result will be! Everytime I put on my makeup my heart flutters already.. I really wonder if the doc would even be willing to change anything? Is there anything that you would say isn't passing about my looks? I think my chin is a little protruding..

The most important differences between feminine and masculine facial apperance is in the upper face area, mainly in the connection that happen from forehead down to the cheekbones, and by far the most important area are the orbital rims, where is the difference in eye expression, and with that the expression of face as a whole. I can't say much about that in relation to pictures you posted, as they are not clear enough in the sense of your facial features. With white background, frontal photo, both 45°angles, both side profiles, tied back hair and without make-up, a fair observation is possible. It doesn't seem like your chin would be anyhow problematic, HRT will make it appear rounder and softer. I'm sorry you weren't able to start HRT at 13 along with living full-time.

Youve given me something to do today!! thanks :) lol Ill be sure to post them up so yall can evaluate! who better to judge me then my fellow transians?? (if thats even a term) LOL
And I agree, I first asked to be a girl when I was five, my life wouldve been sooo much better if I had been supported to transition from the start. Story of all our lives right? C'est la vie!!

Honestly I would not change anything, in any case you want to give the hormones at least 1 years just to see what the soft tissue changes do to the overall look.

There are plenty of doctors who will operate on anyone regardless of need, some doctors operate simply out of greed and will always recommend you get everything redone even if it is detrimental, just be careful when getting consults and remember they are selling you things.

This is probably going to trigger someone, so fair warning; there's a beard.  I'm a few weeks away from HRT, no hair removal, and yes it bothers me.

So what do you all think?  Could I pass without FFS and without a beard?

You know, you can actually shave a beard...  ;D Why don't you take a picture without a beard? What you are asking us is kinda hard we can just make suppositions. Prior to HRT, you should start exercising a close shaving (to get the less hair possible), and practice with make up, maybe grow your hair out or wear fake hair (which can be very inexpensive and you can find really good wigs for 10 dollars that are ok just to look how you would look like with longer hair), it's not a waste of money to buy female things, since you want to transition, you would need those things in the future anyway, especially with make up... Which can be really hard, you might want to start practicing as soon as possible.

Good luck :)

I wore shoulder length or longer hair as a teenager for a few years, wore eye liner as well, I can paint my toes better than my girlfriend, and from the neck down I look better in her own dresses/skirts/high heels (her words, though I feel like it was 40% truth, 60% being nice, lol).  Shaving the beard is a double edged sword; I don't want to shave it because I'm insecure about my weight and when I do eventually shave it I don't want to see what I perceive to be a man staring back at me.

I want an "overnight" transition and I've got 30 pounds to lose.  By the end of this coming summer I'll have hopefully been on HRT for 6 months and I'll have lost at least half of the weight.  Finally, I'm definitely growing my hair out.  I regret it the second I cut it every. single. time. and always have since I was teenager.  Except when I shaved it bald because my father was going through chemo/radiation therapy for lung cancer; that I did because I loved him and didn't want him to feel alone.

I suppose what I'm looking for is someone to objectively look at where they started, where they are, and compare their own "before" to mine. I appreciate the feedback! :)

That's just not realistic, we are all different. Also, an overnight transition is not realistic neither. Hormones are not magic pills, most changes are not going to be facial wise if you're not a teenager anymore, and even me (I am 18), I will not get much facial changes neither. HRT usually takes a year to see a realistic change and it's usually just boobs maybe some fat, in your fce you might get more feminine cheeks and a softer and more feminine skin. But who knows, it's very individual. How old are you btw? I really don't understand, but don't you perceive a man with facial hair? I mean even the most androgynous person, facial hair are really manly...  I really find it hard to believe that you're practicing make up with a beard.

Hi!  I just hit four months.  I don't know how to do makeup, so forgive me there.  Luckily, it was only lipstick and eyeshadow, so I don't think I messed it up too bad.   These pics range from the 3 1/2 month mark up until yesterday when I hit four months.  Hoping to be able to go full time within the next 3-6 months.  Any advice or constructive criticism is appreciated, as well as general input.  Oh, as far as age is concerned, I'm 25 years old.

Serena...oh, I like you....finally someone to back me up in that hormones are not magic pils. I feel alone in that I've always believed this. Hormones didn't make me cry more, or make my hands smaller, no hair fell out. Other than a modest B cup, maybe a couple inches on hips and perhaps softer hands (not sure about this as I moisturize a lot more now), hormones were not a biggie in terms of what made me who I am. Now, electrolysis, makeup lesson, personal shopping experience, therapy, trachea shave and GRS - now those had an impact.

I want an "overnight" transition and ...

Everybody would prefer that... But sadly there is no such thing as an "overnight" transition. It's a process, and a rather long one... It could be done faster if you have saved $7000-10,000 for electrolysis sessions, and $20-30,000 for FFS ... But that's the only things that I could think of that makes any kind of shortcuts. Laser takes literally like a year of monthly sessions, if you're lucky.. Many need more than just 11-12 sessions. If you decide to wait for the hormones to do their magic and transform the face (in any serious way), you're in for a looooooong wait, because such things doesn't happen in one or two years.

Let me explicitly clarify what I meant with "overnight" so 3 more of you don't go into spontaneous rants that are completely out of context in regards to my original question:

When I say that I would prefer/want an "overnight" transition I mean that I'm willing to wait 6-12 months, or until I feel comfortable (there's the key in all of it) with doing something about the beard. I never once eluded to or outright stated that I thought or believed estradiol to be a "magic pill".

I'm going to go ahead and remove the link as I really do not feel argumentative today. The question was simple; you answer it with your opinions all of the time, but yet I get "supposition" from an 18 year old. I'm out. *mic drop*
Carpe diem.

Honestly, it's impossible to take it seriously when someone asks "could I pass" with a beard photo...

Answer: most people can "pass" eventually, at least to some level. Will you be able to pass without FFS? You will find an answer about that after you'll be on hormones for a year or two, and live at least part-time if not full-time in the desired gender.
