When does fat redistribution occur?

For the guys who are on long term T, how long did it take for you to actually notice the fat redistribution in the hips, thighs and especially buttocks?  And how much would you say the change was?  Was it enough to drop pant sizes?  Also , were you guys working out those areas while being on T?

I'm almost 2 years on T and have yet to see it change. I did work out and dieted during those two years and got very motivated to work off the ass and hips. It got so bad that I only saw a good change when I became underweight. Not good. When I regained a healthy weight, the hips and ass came back regardless of the T. So sorry, can't tell you good news.

That must be disappointing Mr X. I was also exercising and dieting both before I ever took T and even when I was considered a bit below normal weight (according to my BMI) it didn't do THAT much difference...

I wish there was something that I can take JUST for the fat distribution OR something that PREVENTS the cursing estrogen hormone to make the fat go into the stomach area where it actually makes sense.  Will estrogen blockers help with this maybe?

I do know it's one of those highly individualized things. I will also say that I never had a particularly feminine shape but my thighs and hips did carry weight. I noticed them slimming down in month 5ish. My wife and I went up to our cabin (where we have hardly any mirrors) in month 7 and when I came back from 10 days up there, I really noticed how much broader my shoulders look in comparison to my hips (not seeing myself full body every day helped me see the changes). And since then, I've lost most of the fat on my hips and thighs, though I have more in the stomach. I need to get back to working out lol, as that will undoubtably help that issue. I have gone down one mens pants size in the waist compared to roughly the same weight before T. Though I also carry more muscle than I did before so completely accurate comparisons are somewhat difficult.

Your shoulders will also broaden on T which will help even if your hips don't change as much.

almost 2 years on T, haven't noticed fat change yet.
I put on some muscles, so my legs are thicker, but not fatter.

yeah, i think that unfortunately this is the sort of thing that really depends on the person. i'm a little over 4 months and i've noticed some slight changes in my hips and in my love handle area, but it wouldn't really be to noticeable to anyone other than me.

Four years on T for me and I am still hoping for more change to occur.  When I started T I was somewhat slight, as I am a lifelong runner, and never really had much on my hips and thighs.  My butt pretty much disappeared after about 2 years, and now I have a bit of a belly.  What REALLY bugs me is this fat that now rests on the top of my pelvic bones and around my back (love handles, perhaps) that totally accentuates the fact that I have a female pelvis and a narrow rib cage.  I did not have this before starting T.  It is really not healthy for me to lose any weight, and even when I was a bit lower, it did not seem to disappear from that area.  It is really bothersome!  Been trying to workout my shoulders, back, and arms to balance it out but I still look too dang female!

Everybody experiences it differently, as we all have different genetics.  Hopefully you will some day see the body in the mirror match up with the body image you have in your head...

I'm not on long term yet, but I've lost 1.5" at the waist, hips, and thighs. My shoulders have gained 2" and I feel slightly fatter? I never measured around the stomach to begin with, but I do feel bigger there.

Fairly slowly. Almost no change in year 1 and 2, but did a lot better in years 3 and 4. I had my hysto/oopho done in the first year, though, so that probably helped.

I did not drop pant sizes. I stayed the same size for the first two years, went up a size in year three, then two sizes in year four. (Disclaimer: in year four I turned 31, and after that I suddenly developed a gut I had never had before, while still being otherwise pretty scrawny. Yeah 30s.)

I'm not far in and I think what I'm experiencing is all in my head. The most I've been noticing is that I'm developing a butt now and it's filling my jeans up more, not my thighs like I originally thought.
