Hey all-so, in the interest of figuring out how I stack up, please let me know what you all think. Be brutal-I feel fairly confident in my voice (started training it at fourteen) but I'd like some brutal honesty just so I know what needs to be perfected.  Thanks!

Girl, you definitely have a long vocal range most people don't! At least I can't speak as naturally as you sound. You are all BUT male. You are female. Once I begun to hear your voice in that clip, I was shocked. Your voice is the BEST! God I wish I were you :(
Have you started hormones? When did you?

Ahhh, I've been on hormones for two years.  I kind of but not really knew I was trans at fifteen or fourteen or so, so I tried to keep my range from succumbing to puberty; plus an eating disorder saved me from the worst of the masculinization, but a big part of it was just practice.

100% female. I don't even think your "slumped" voice is in any way clockable.

I'd be very happy with a voice like that.

I have to get surgery to get a  voice like that... it's pretty damn good. And it's pretty damn natural too.

Um, it's 100% girl.  Perfectly age-appropriate too.

sounds great! you should be very happy!

the only feedback i would give is your inflections when you raise your pitch towards the end of a phrase sounded a little too high, that was the only thing that stood out to me as being slightly off.

I'm soooooo glad you put your boy-voice in there at the end.  You totally inspired me since your voice sounds so perfect.  Would you mind telling us what route you went when training it?  How long did that take?

It's one of the best voices I've heard on here.

Abysha,

I'm glad it's given you some hope...I wish I could offer you a definitive secret that gave me the voice I have.  In truth, a lot of it was just timing.  I made a conscious effort to use the highest voice I could possibly muster from when I was fourteen, as I mentioned above.  However, I should note that my vocal cords DID mature (though not completely), and all I did was stretch my range out a bit!  You call what I did at the end of the clip my "boy voice", but I never had a boy voice to begin with!  That's the deepest tone I can hit, but even that takes a lot of effort.  It's not like I have two voices; I jsut have a very stretched range.  Gradually stretching your voice is the best advice I can offer.  Use a keyboard to set a pitch and try and base your speech off of it for a week or so.  After that, move on to the next one.  The voice is a muscle, and you just need to stretch it.

I list myself as "Q" because I don't identify within the gender binary, even if having a body I am comfortable with demands I change my sex.  I'll let you know more when I get back to your PM!

My range-and here's a secret-actually isn't that big.  I have a good deal less than two octaves, on good days, not including my falsetto.  The highest note I can hit before my voice cracks completely is an A5, B5 if I've done a LOT of warm-ups beforehand.  I don't really like to test my shreiking pitch, so I don't know how high it goes.  I can go more in depth later w you if you'd like, but I'm a firm believer that your timbre, the quality of the sound you make is just as important than the actual pitch.  Pitch matters.  But when I identified as a gay man my voice was actually even higher than it usually is today!  It's just the sounds quality that was different.
