Hi Everyone. I am a transwoman in the UK. Is it possible that testosterone is still having a developmental effect on me at age 20? If so, Is it possible for a GP to prescribe me with an antiandrogen to prevent me from developing further? I also have male-pattern baldness which is getting worse. I have already sent my GP a letter but have not heard anything yet. I'm sorry, but I keep worrying all the time. I don't want to look more masculine. I'm ugly enough as it is. I have to wait about a year to get to a GIC. Thanks everyone xxx

The short answer is -yes- to some degree.
I would talk to your GP but they make not be comfortable prescribing without advice from a GIC. I presume you are refering to the wait to get in at CX. Your other options in the meantime are to go private if you can afford it, at least tempory, or have your GP refer you to one of the other GIC which may have a shorter time.

I believe, depending on your own endocrine system, testestorone keeps changing and shaping your body for many years, although the most change is upto approx 25'ish... But don't quote me on that one! The earlier you can reduce testosterone levels the changes will then reduce and stop.

Yes...
MPB is caused by a by product of testosterone; DHT this will reduce by anti androgens and in particular Finesteride which with Anti Androgens will stop MPB.
Rather than writing to your Dr can't you go and talk with him?

I actually wrote to hin because I couldn't grt an appointment on that day. Also I am autistic and have problens talking face-to-face with people. I really hopr he will prescribe finasteride for me. What should I do if he doesn't. I always expect the worse. I haven't even seen him yet and I'm already expecting bad things.

Aah OK didn't realise on both counts 

You could get Rogaine/Regaine hair treatment, it reduces the effects of DHT, it's a topical solution and in some countries, like here in Australia, you get it over the counter.

Can you see your own GP for the Finesteride? It will dramatically reduce DHT on its own, but it does cause boob budding and reduced male libido... I am guessing that is not a problem  Although when your GP explains that they may probe the loss of maleness

Yes get going on stoppoing MPB ASAP!
I would try and talk in person if you can psych up to do so. A few days or even weeks will make no difference.
You have my sympathies!
BTW don't waste your time on Rogane go for the Finasturide/Dutasteride (SP?) and stop it at source

Rogaine didn't work for me, because I was too far gone... Was only suggesting a temporary solution untill Christina can get to a Dr
