so someone made a thread about clothing preferences so I thought I would make one about hair and makeup... whats your preferences for your hair length, color, way you style it...and makeup, do you wear it, how often, how much, looks you like, favorite brands...and does your hair and makeup match your preferences or do you do something else on yourself? I really love blonde hair...light blonde and id go a shade or two lighter if I could but I like my color...I will die a blonde! I love really long and my hair is a couple inches below my boob but I would like it down to my waist. I like wavy, curls or straight but I mostly wear straight for various reasons..as far as makeup I wouldn't be caught dead in public without some...I went to school just for makeup so its like my best talent. I will say though im not nearly as into it as when I started transition...I used to love a lot of heavy dark makeup, cut creases, huge winged liner, lots of contour...lets just say its way more subtle now although I still wear everything I did before just less...if I do do dramatic its more on the eyes usually as opposed to lips

ooooh! I like this topic.. Although I'm not even much of a fashionista.. I like my hair long dark and wavy.. which is the texture and color it is! lol! I just have zero desire to alter it! It can be on the frizzy side a lot, but I don't even mind that! :D I'm a wild woman! :P I want it pretty long.. I want to at least have it below my middle back, maybe just above my bum. I just like long hair a lot! lol! As far as make-up, for everyday I just wear enough to  help with passing.. I put Revlon Colorstay 24 hour foundation on, then I dust some Cover Girl "rose silk" blush onto my cheeks and nose, then I set all of that with coty powder. After that I use some eyeliner powder on my eyes going just to the center of my lower lash area.. then mascara.. and that's it really! lol!

I'm a natural blonde; my hair was platinum blonde until I was about 16, and then it started to darken, and became a dirty blonde color. I started getting highlights several years ago, and I really loved the color, but I had this yearning to go dark, so 2 years ago, I had my hair colored dark. I kept it dark for only about 2 months, before I really wanted my blonde color back. it took about a year and a half to get it back to a blonde that I am pleased with, but it's still not as pretty as it was before I colored it. The next time I want to go dark, I'll buy a wig, lol. As far as length, my hair is at the middle of my back right now, but it would have been a lot longer, if I wouldn't have tried a short hair style about 5 years ago. And the next time I want short hair, I'll buy a wig.  It's funny we always want what we don't have, curly hair women want straight hair, and vice versa; I guess it's just the way that we are wired.  :)

I like to keep my makeup light and natural during the day, but I go for more of a dramatic look in the evening, depending on where I'm going.

I definitely like my hair long, and I look best with either black or very dark red hair.  My natural color is a very dark brown that has a lot of burgandy highlights and gradients in it which is really pretty. Unfortunately, I'm starting to get enough gray hairs that I have to color it and matching my natural color has been really hard so now I just color it black.  I also have naturally wavy hair that I can coax into curls with product, but I don't know what I'll get from day to day so I don't wear my hair curly and down very often.  I prefer consistency, so I usually straighten it and then put some body or curl back.  When I do wear my natural curls out of the house, it will usually be in a ponytail.

For makeup, I use a lot of different stuff depending upon the look I'm trying to get.  In my avatar pic, I'm wearing Graftobian HD Creame Foundation custom mixed to match my natural skin tone, and added to some moisturizer. I have tricky skin tone to match so I like being able to customize the tint in order to adjust for my skin tone on any given day.  Then I'll either use the creame straight or add it to moisturizer, sunscreen, or a mixing base.  I also use the same stuff in a orange/ping color as a concealer.  I'm using a touch of L'Oreal illuminating primer to tone down my slight brow bossing.  For eyeshadow and blush, I'm using Urban Decay but in this pic they've mostly worn off.  The Urban Decay Venus highlighter is like magic in the way it changes the depth of my eye sockets.  I love the Anastasia products for my brows.  For the rest, I'm happy with drugstore brands. In this pic I'm using Maybelline gel eyeliner and mascara, and Revlon Lip Butter.  Also, I have really short eyelashes so I'm wearing some fairly natural Korean brand falsies attatched with Darkness lash glue (the best I've found).

I pass 100% without makeup, but I'm really self-conscious about my eyes so the minimum I'll usually go out with is eyeliner and falsies and I'll put something on my lips since that takes almost no time at all.  I love makeup and it's so much fun to try out new stuff!  I look forward to reading what everyone else is using.

I didn't say any brands I like so here I go... For foundation makeup forever hd foundation... Concealer either Mac studio finish or a concealer pallet from coastal scents.. Eyeshadow I love pallets and have a couple from coastal scents and bh cosmetics also have a lot of makeup forever eyeshadows..mascara mabelline falsies, and my lip products are all cheaper things like NYx and wet and wild and such... Honestly I don't care much for brands if something works well and looks good I use it! I also love how I look in good quality well applied lashes

I'm working toward long, dark brown hair with a fringe.

I actually prefer to understate my makeup, and go for as natural a look as possible.

Perfume is not so understated. Addict by Dior ...

I find mixing up low-key with *loud* really adds intrigue :~D

I like my hair around shoulder length and detest my naturally almost black hair. Hence I prefer I rich dark red. As far makeup I tend to lean towards natural, but sometimes play up the lips or on rare occasions the eyes.

I like my hair right around shoulder length when its dry. Its naturally curly, but easy enough to deal with overall. I do have to color it occasionally to hide gray, but its dirty blonde, if I go a little darker, it always fades back to dirty blonde quickly.  As for makeup, I just use a tad concealer to lighten up a couple areas and then a little foundation, but not really all over my face, just where I need to even things up a tad. Then very light blush and then powder and then I lightly go over it all with a little bit of tissue to get any loose powder and blend a little. I don't like a lot of makeup and there's only so much you can do with my face anyway. Plus I try not to spend much time on any of it.

Okaaay, lets go on this one :D

Actually I got my hair blonde (maybe a Majirel 10 shade, but looking like a 9), and I wear it usually straightened (easy and fast to dry straight, plus you get that clean, tidy and moisturized look). Ocasionally I wear it a little curled (specially on ends), but it takes a lot of work (I'm kinda clumsy). Favourite cosmetics for hair are: Trendyhair Mask Elastic Keratin (best hydration mask ever), Kerastase Ciment Thermique (really nice moisturizing milk) and L'oreal Extraordinary Oil (for ends) or maybe some pure brandless argan oil. I also like black (shade 1) hair a lot (like on my pic) but it's a messy colour to remove plus it hardens your features a bit.

Favourite cosmetics for make up are: Lancome Le Teint Miracle foundation (just a very few brands here got matching tones for my skin which is very very fair), Lancome Effacernes Longue Tenue concealer (for dark circles), Yves Saint Laurent Volupte lipsticks, Chanel loose powder/lip contouring pencils/eyeshadows, Bobbi Brown corrector (great for dark circles along with Lancome Effacernes), Maybelline eyebrow pencils and brow mascaras, and L'Oreal mascaras and eyeliner pencils. I *always* wear the liquid foundation plus some concealer (for the eye dark circles), mascara, lip balm and a touch of eyeliner (and usually white pencil for the inner eyelids) plus some powder to matify. I like dramatic styles (specially for the eyes) and original/rare eyeliner styles but I don't wear them often. Sometimes I just wear BB Cream (La Roche Posay) and mascara/liner, really minimalistic.

Also for skin care I'm actually using Vichy Lifctactiv Supreme line (serum + night cream + day cream + eye contour) and Olay Regenerist Perfecting Cleanser (along with the 2speed rotating brush). I like a lot both. For more advanced cosmetics, hyaluronic fillers work great (thus a bit expensive) as well as thread liftings (calcium hydroxyapatite).

ok here mine goes

My hair length is about shoulder blade length. I have ash brown hair with golden blonde streaks.  I love my long hair, funny thing when I was still a guy I loved my hair short short.

Makeup... I wear makeup pretty much every day and most of it is concentrated around my eyes. I wear eye shadow (pinks and brown) on my eye lids during the day for work with eye liner and mascara. I maybe wear a pit blush on my cheeks and I wear lipstick on my lips mostly pinkish or brownish colours.

At night I go more exotic with the eye shadow wearing it almost to my eye brow.. Colors.. blues, greens etc.. and I wear red lipstick.

Also Nail polish.. My fav colors is red, maroon and blue. I also love the french manicure style as well, especially for my toes, however I wear all colors of the rainbow

For make up I usually like to wear a white pencil, black eyeliner for the yes, and A BB cream, and usually red lip stick... I should start using a better foundation to cover the beard shadow... But usually when I got out it's not make up or maybe just the bb cream cuz my mom doesn't want me to look feminine. Also I love pink, so sometimes I do wear a pink lipstick but I feel like it makes me look like a little kid sometimes.

For the hair, I love my natural hair definitely prefer them straight, but I love the deep black color I have, and people always compliment me, but I also like to wear other colors, I'm using a blond or dark blond wig recently, and I also want to try a red like Rihanna wore, I think it might look good on my because I have the same skin tone she has, and my mom dyes her hair red, and she is beautiful (just on the outside not in the inside), but with the blond wig I think I look a lot like my sister, she has blond hair too but with black roots.

And I want my hair as long as possible, hopefully they will grow longer soon so I can stop wearing wigs.

My hair is currently down to my tits, but I might cut it either shoulder length or shorter and give myself some swept bangs. It's naturally wavy and I don't do much to tame it aside from brushing it and sometimes smoothing the frizz with some Dove styling spray. I'll often put it in a ponytail if I'm going out or wear a headband if I'm lazy, but I don't style it much. Very occasionally I'll put it up into a messy bun. Color is naturally dark brown with auburn highlights and I sometimes lighten it with Sun-In to bring those highlights out. I'm considering lightening it a bit and dying it either dark red or dark purple soon.

For makeup, I don't wear much. Usually just some eyeliner and sometimes some lip stuff. I often don't even bother wearing makeup but my eyes do sometimes feel naked without a lil eyeliner. So for eyeliner I like either Maybelline gel, NYX pencil, or my current fav is a Wet n Wild twist-up pencil which as been working pretty well for me. I usually go for black but sometimes grey or brown. For lips I use Burt's Bees in a few different shades (Rhubarb is my fav), or a shimmering chapstick. I have a couple lipsticks (forgot the brand), one that matches my lip color pretty well and another in a rather striking red. Don't wear lipstick often though. I have some concealer but haven't used it in a long time. The bags under my eyes aren't as noticeable anymore so I don't bother, and my upper lip shadow is hardly noticeable anymore either. I don't really use anything else. Tried mascara once and didn't like it, don't need foundation or blush, and anything else would just seem unnecessary. I have penciled in my eyebrows before though and may again, but often it just makes them too bold for my taste.

I have natural dark blonde curly hair. I would like it much longer. For makeup, I use ecco Bella cover up stick, felt tip eye liner, mascara, and brown eye brow pencil.

My shorter wig looks much better and me and it frames me face well.  It's straight and auburn and for a synthetic wig, it looks surprisingly natural.

As for makeup, I'm still practising with it but I love using purple eyeshadow and lipstick.

I want mine to the middle of my back with fringes in the front. Blonde or any colored hair won't work for me. I'm not Nikki Minaj even though a few (blind?) people say I look like her?

For makeup foundation I like smashbox photo finish primer, coverFX foundation and for concealer I like Bobbi brown. I also use first aid beauty ultra repair cream moisturizer everyday even without makeup. I like bare minerals face color. Lipstick I like natural colors and lip gloss however I've had my days with hot pink (must be where the Nikki Minaj comments come from).

I have corkscrew curls, which I prefer to let down with either a centre or side-part, but because I have a small thinning spot at the back of my scalp, it's really frustrating to wear it down because it's hard to cover that spot completely. When I pull my hair back, I think my profile looks significantly more masculine. I'm hoping HRT helps a bit with my hair loss and makes it a little easier to wear my hair back without feeling like an ugly male. I feel like I look dramatically different from the front and the sides, and so I wear my hair down to hide my profile if my hair is behaving that day.

When I have a lot of time to work with my face, I like using Philosophy's The Present primer, which I learnt about from the spectacular gossmakeupartist on YouTube; either Tarte's BB cream or MAC's Studio Fix Fluid for my foundation once the primer sets; Tarte's Smooth Operator setting powder; Urban Decay's Perversion eyeliner; MAC or NARS eyeshadows, depending on my look; Benefit's Hoola Bronzer to contour my cheeks; no specific blush; sometimes, Benefit's High Beam or Watt's up on the rare occasion I highlight; and my fave lipsticks are deep reds, like MAC's Russian Red or Stunner, or Urban Decay's Ms Mia Wallace. I also love MAC's Girl About Town.

On a quick day, if the laser has left me able to go bare-faced enough, I just do a bit of eyeliner, highlighter with Watt's Up, and lipstick or lip gloss, usually something more natural-toned.
