I took my estrogen prescription for the first time today. I watched the tutorial but I'm not sure If I did the shot right. Since the medicine is clear I couldn't tell if it was in the syringe or not. I don't *feel* any different but I wasn't sure if it actually has any immediate effect or not. I'll try again next week.

I'm sorry but we can't give medical advice so when it doubt check with your doctor's office. If your not sure it's best to do in the office in front of the nurse or doctor a few times tell you are comfortable doing it yourself. What I will tell you is if you had the syringe back to where your suppose to and had nothing in it and pushed it in after stabbing the needle into your muscle it would be like your pushing air in instead if it had nothing in it and it was back to the line it's supposed to be for the dosage your on. I recommended doing it in front of them I bit longer. Sounds like you may not be ready to go solo yet. Good luck and hugs

If you shot air into yourself, it would not feel good. You should probably sit with your nurse for the first couple of times you do it. My nurse watched me 3 times and then gave me the ok for on my own.

It would be a lot more painful to shoot air into yourself. When I learned to self-inject, I had the nurse show me once, I mimed the actions back to her, and then I did it myself. I've watched one video on Youtube about the process since, and have not had any issues.

If you get nervous or feel like you're forgetting steps, it might benefit you to write out everything you need to do on a white board or chalk board and check off the steps each time.
