I know this is pretty much true for a lot of stuff in life, but I thought I could be rational. Nope! Not yet! Ive been hrt for 9 days and I'm already feeling so impatient.. Relieved but impatient! Haha! Darn it! I'm also doing another thing I told myself I wouldn't do.. Constantly checking my breasts and other fatty areas for any microscopic change.. Which I know can't have happened yet, so why am I being so crazy?! Haha! Eep! Anyway just thought I'd express this silliness!

You're on the road, dear, and you want to arrive at the destination. But I'll say this again, just like I did on Facebook, be sure to stop and smell the roses. Enjoy the journey itself. You're going to discover things about yourself, both good and bad, and have the opportunity to refine the good and fix the bad.

I know exactly how you feel. Imagine how I feel today, 12 days from FFS? I'm being a little bit irrational and my friends are laughing at me (in a very positive and good way) and the excitement of approaching this milestone is something I don't want to forget.

So... enjoy the trip! You'll get to the destination plenty soon enough but the journey itself has lessons and joys of its own. Enjoy them. :)

I know waiting is a pain even I have more waiting to do, but it's worth it so be patient you will love the changes as they happen. Hugs

Saw this at the academy tonight. Thought it was relevant.

It's not going to happen overnight and certainly not by itself. You gotta get up and go.

Oh my ! I don't post often but I'm with you on this one girl ! I'm on my seventh day and do exactly the same !  I'm about to take out the ruler and the tape to measure things.  But that would just be too crazy !

I took weekly measurements for the first six or so weeks... don't think I've bothered since!

I was so obsessed with measurements but I'm glad I kept track of them since eventually the changes come on even slower, so it can be hard to tell what's changing if you haven't kept a record of it. Every time there was a change it improved my self esteem and I knew my hrt regimen was working for me, which was really reassuring.

I took a measurement last night. The time before that was 3 months ago. I am making progress but it takes time. The only reason I measured was I thought I looked larger and I confirmed what I was thinking.

Enjoy every minute :)

Thank you all so much! I am going to try to just keep living.. :) It's funny to me, though, because I was in this headspace of "Oh, I won't feel impatient after I at least start HRT.. haha! Then after doing it . . . BAM! I want to look different NOW! Haha! But indeed, I shall happily wait.. I was considering measurements as well.. at least monthly. A friend recommended that I reserve a well fitting shirt to try on every once in a while to see if I notice changes.

We have all measured at some point I think it's been at least a month or so since I last did. The shirt method does work well to an extent.

mmmmm

My advice... Let your body hair (as much as you have it) grow long, or do anything else that will possibly help you with not looking in the mirror and searching for changes and going crazy because of it. It literally takes time, and nothing will drastically change before enough months passes. In the meantime, focus on things that you can do to make you feel better, and work on doing stuff that will help you with easier transition steps. Waiting, measuring, worrying and obsessing will not make you feel any better. Doing what you like to do, and working on/for transition steps (whatever that might be) will.
