New Orleans, LA – On April 13th, 2015 the Southern Poverty Law Center and the National Center for Lesbian Rights filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana under title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 against Mississippi-based Tower Loan. A subsidiary of First Tower Loan LLC, on behalf of Tristan Broussard, a 21-year-old female-to-male transsexual.

Great article. Show how much better SPTR does news reporting on trans issues than less knowledgeable media.

This is actually pretty big. First that SPLC is putting its money where its mouth is with respect to treating gender identity discrimination as a civil rights issue. Second, if they win the case, it will finally codify into law the EEOC position that discrimination based on gender presentation is sex discrimination.
