I could never seriously bring myself to refer to myself as any male name I gave....myself...

I tried Hannah, which I thought was cute, but for some reason, "Samantha" always lingered there. For me, it reflected my femininity perfectly, a perfect reflection of my inner self. Also it sounded really pretty to me.

How'd you choose your name?

For a long time, I didn't have a female name. I started with the word Madrigal, which is a type of song. Later I decided to shorten it to Maddy. I'm not exactly sure why, something about it just clicked with me. After that I got to thinking, "Maddy Andrew is a weird name..." So, I stuck the Aya in it's place, I'd always liked that name, not sure why, just do. After that, presto, Maddy Aya Whitley was the name I would stick with. I'm still not exactly sure what drew me to those names. After looking up their meanings, I found they fit my personality to a T. So, I guess maybe I was meant to be Maddy Aya all along =)
Just go with your gut, that's what I did.

Devlyn

My friend didn't like the name I had chosen (Tracey) and named me Devlyn instead.  I like her choice a lot better than mine!  :)

I chose a name that was androgynous but the nickname was more male. After I came out, I just changed the my name from its androgynous for to the masculine form. There are a few names you can do that with, but that one just seemed to fit.

Cindy

My first day at school my teacher asked my name, I said Cindy. Everyone laughed. I had the last one

Mariah

To be honest, I'm not sure why I eventually chose the name Mariah. I suppose the fact of my being familiar with Mariah Carey and the fact I like to sing that drew me to it. I have always done or picked things based on feeling and sense. I did eventually find out what I would have been named if things had turned out the way I felt they should have and would be the name my sister ended up with. I know that name would have never felt right.

I had always had a fondness and kind of an attachment to the name Gwendolyn ever since I was a kid. I read it in a book. Unfortunately I cannot remember the title of that book anymore.

Well, I've had two names in mind.. I can't decide.. on one hand I've always loved the name Alexis, and it's not too far off my birth name, but I've also been considering the name Ashley.

I haven't chosen yet what name I'll go by, but I'm leaning towards choosing Ashley ^-^
