Sadly I am in the same boat. I have pitch my voice moving it into my mouth but the best I have been able to do was get below the female range. One thing you can do if it's just day trips is fake voice problems and talk in a whisper. If you are living full time and the money is available, a speech therapist might draw out more usable range.
My reason for coming to this site was my voice. I am considering the surgical route but not only is it expensive, you still need to pitch your voice. The reason for this is men talk from their chest and women from their mouth. I don't know how much you know about this subject and if your voice has broke. If you are one of the lucky ones where the voice didn't break, you may have a good deal of upper range to work with. I saw a male singer on TV once who had a full 4 octaves of range. He sang in the low male range and then dressed as a woman and sung in the high range.
I had a very good teacher and I might be able to pass you a few useful tips to raise your voice but understand it will take a good deal of effort and the results might not be everything you want. The good thing is once mastered and used for a while, you forget how to use the lower range.
