I'm 5'3, and it bothers me a lot. I know height won't be as important when I'm older, but I'm just jealous of all those trans men who are the typical male height or taller.

I think one of the second-uncles or whatever is 5'0, and my grandpa was 5'4, so height isn't a trans-only problem lol. I just wish I was taller, even just two inches...

Regrettably, once we've stopped growing (or until we stop), we get the height we get. Some men - cis and trans - use lifts in their shoes to give them a boost, up to an inch I believe. Being shorter than average need not stop from you from getting on with an awesome life!

I know a lot of guys stress about height, cis or trans. I am one of the lucky ones at 5'8.5". There are tons of guys that I notice (because I'm always comparing) that are shorter than me. And from a guy that doesn't have to worry so much about height let me tell you there would be a million other things to be dysphoric about instead anyway :(

I'm 5'1.5 so it could be worse, don't sweat it. I also wish I was taller but meh- no use crying over something that's not in your control.

5'2.5... It's never really bothered me until recently. I get self conscious around tall guys these days.. It's nothing that can be changed though, and also I've never seen a short buy being treated like he was less of a guy so why should it matter in the end..
I'm trying to be somebody, I'm not trying to be somebody else.

I'm around 1,64m (European here) which, I suppose, is slightly above 5ft? I know it's not something to brag about and I tend to be noticably shorter than other guys but since it's something I can't change I don't really think about it much. I like to think it's just one of the features that makes me the person I am. :)

Besides, I can always crack jokes about the really tall guys, like "do you need your own radio frequences up there?" :D

I'm 5'3" and the only times it bugs me is when I had a job that required reaching up to the top shelf. If your height does not hinder you in day to day workings then it isn't a big deal.

I'm 5'6, making me the shortest guy in my family. But, I know a lot of guys my height and shorter. In Asia I'm not that short but back home I am. It bothered me for a while until I realized that my brother is only two inches taller and a lot of guys in my husbands family are short.

Yeah, same here. I've come to accept my height. Besides, there are a lot of short guys that are awesome, too. I think that Wolverine is about 5'3'' and he's really awesome. I'm 5'2.5'', btw.

When folk ask "how tall are you?"..... I always say 5' 14"  :D

I'm thankful to be 5'7.5" (even if I complain about it) because a lot of the cis guys I know are within an inch of me, plus or minus. Taller guys may be more common but there's a lot of prominent guys out there who are short! Prince is 5'2". Devon Murray (Seamus from the Harry Potter movies) is 5'3". Seth Green and Michael J Fox are 5'4". Daniel Radcliffe and Johnny Galecki are 5'5". So don't stress too much about height. Just because one range is more common doesn't mean awesome short guys aren't out there.

I'm 4'10" and I love it! I chose my forum name based on how tiny and adorable I am :)

Of course I know that most men don't want to be "tiny and adorable". I used to be very bothered by my small size so I spent a lot of time looking for the positives about it.

There are LOTS of cis short guys. Start looking. :) (I'm 5'1".) Self confidence gives you a lot of "HEIGHT".
(Also have a friend who is 4'10", I think.)

I'm 5'1.5" or 5'2" and I get upset about it sometimes too. In my school's trans support group, I mentioned that I stopped passing, and one of them said that their friend struggled to pass for a long time because of his height. I can sometimes comfort myself with that list of guys who are short but I also know that it doesn't change that most guys aren't that short.

There are lots of short guys though. Perhaps we're just... overlooking them? haha sorry, couldn't resist.

Maybe it's a location thing. I'm in major city so maybe I get to see a wider variety of shapes and sizes in people.

yeah, I'm really short (not sure of my exact height but I'm short as frick, oh my god) and it's a major insecurity for me. one thing that helps a bit is my favorite singer (patrick stump; yes I really am that much of a nerd) is about the same height as me and he's a cis dude - makes me feel a bit better, I dunno.

it took me a bit to get this joke, but as soon as I got it I spent about a minute just laughing at it. :D

i'm normally 5'7" but because of back issues (thanks man tumors) i kind of /shrunk/ to 5'5"ish. while that may seem tall to some, everyone in my family is tall. my mom is around the same height as me, my aunt is 5'10", my grandma was 5'11"/6'0", and my great grandfather was a whopping 6'7"....

i guess i'm about 5'4 but i have a terrible posture  :-\ i remember being one of the tallest in my primary school class but from 3rd grade everyone started growing and i was already done with my height spurt
i wear insoles though and shoes that have a heel (like doc martens boots) so with the boots and insoles i probably look 2 inches taller (btw, insoles are really cheap on ebay, i really recommend them for shorter guys like me)

I'm 5'3.5" but do wish I was taller. One thing I've found that helps is dressing make myself look taller. You can find lots of websites that give fashion advice for shorter guys. With the way I dress and carry myself, most people are surprised that I'm only 5'3.5". Maybe changing up some parts of your wardrobe will help give you more confidence.

I'm 5'4.5" and definitely have moments when I really, really resent my height (especially since my older brother is almost a foot taller than me, and I have many female friends who are much taller than average). The dysphoria is quite intense because I often feel like I'm taller or just generally bigger than I am, then I'll see a picture or reflection of me with cis male friends and can't wrap my head around how much smaller I look. Guess it's just another aspect of my brain's body map.

Anyway, as others have said already, there's an amazing amount of human variation out there if you take the time to look around. I happen to work with several men who are at or very close to my height -- I'm even taller than a couple of them. I kind of always keep an eye out for guys who have a similar build and I've been pleasantly surprised by just how many I've seen. Sometimes it helps to know you're not so unique.
