I don't mean to offend anyone , but I think its a duty for me being a member of the transgender community to put my 2 cents into the ring as regards Trump as a benefactor of the LGBT community. I find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone republican or not as a transgender could conceivably find the remotest benefit to  transgender community from the election of Donald Trump.

I doubt almost any American would benefit from a Trump presidency.

If he ever becomes pres, not only will the trans and lgbt community suffer, everyone in the world would suffer.

Thank goodness he can't keep his mouth shut. A wise person once said, it's better to let people think you're a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. I have a funny feeling this is just something on his bucket list.

Oh Good one Kova, good one!  :icon_lol:
Yep all doubt removed  :D
I'm just hoping that we get people elected that really believe we are deserving of being treated above sub human.
And of course Trump is too full of himself to believe anyone can be worthy of living other than himself.

Does anyone truly believe he has a chance of winning the Republican primaries? When are they being held anyway?

Well right now he's running in the number "2" position.

I actually think that if he actually got the Republican nomination that it would only help the Democratic nominee, who as it would appear would be Hillary.

As a lifelong lefty I am actually already enjoying Trump's little sideshow. He may muddle and distract the conservative leaning folks with his campaign and he will most likely help push centrists away from the GOP camp. Assuming the Dems put forward a good show with Clinton and Sanders.

Trump will never be president. But if we are lucky we will get some good laughs at his expense. If we are really lucky he will almost bankrupt himself like Newt Gingrich did in his last go round...a colony on the moon...HA!

According to some silly poll, my state(NC) has him driving the clown car.

I'm still pulling for Bernie. We need a president named Bernie. It would be better than a president named Hillary, that's for sure.

What exactly do you want him to do? Or for that matter what exactly are you afraid he will do? Presidents are not very powerful politically and executive orders are not binding on the next president. I don't think Trump will go as great guns fast as Obama does and maybe that's good maybe it's bad. Who's to say? It's pretty early in the election season.

I still think that people in this community do not realize how important the gay marriage win was in the supreme court. There have been documented cases where the woman was denied all benefits at divorce when her past was discovered. The gay marriage win will have a ripple effect through the country on cases where families protest probate wills of dead spouses because of a transsexual spouse. No longer can a judge say "well you weren't born with a vagina, therefore the marriage was never legal, therefore there can be no spousal benefits". Now we know we can freely walk into relationships and not get shafted if the relationship ends or death of a spouse or whatever.

No, the one that will probably get it is George W. Bush's bother (yes another Bush)... Although there are around a dozen plus people in the republican primary. From what i recall this is way more than usual.

I personally think It's going to be Jeb Bush  vs. Hillary Clinton.

Last I heard he was actually the leading candidate. Personally I believe there is no chance in him being elected nomination or not. I'm hoping he gets it because I think it will cost the GOP greatly. I believe the LGBT+ community will in best case not benefit from any GOP official and worst case actually suffer. I'm not saying the democrats will save us, but I'm convinced there is almost no chance of them making things worse for us.

Nicely put.

Transgender people will not benefit if Trump wins.  Neither will anybody else, so I won't take the unlikely event of a Trump presidency personally.  What bothers me is that I can't see a single candidate anywhere who will benefit anybody except their big-ticket donors.  I don't even see anybody I can hold my nose and tolerate this time.
When in doubt, ignore the moral judgments of anybody who engages in cannibalism.

Honestly, I think that any and all politicians suck. (same goes for aspiring politicians) People keep talking up Bernie Sanders. But, I don't trust any politician any farther than I can throw the schmucks.
