So, what about a transgender child? "Not in my house!" Barbara Walters is not impressed.

Barbara Walters is not impressed with Sherri Shepherd's transphobic discourse but I am.  Really, I am impressed with her buffoonery concerning things immutable, like history, and things determined by many empirical observations, like the shape of planet Earth.

Now that I think again, I am impressed with whomever got her the job as co-host of The View.

Having said that, I ask that one thing be considered, a bit of logic, or lack thereof:  All religious persons are not fundies, but all fundies are religious persons.  Proposition:  place the title of bigot where it belongs, on the fundies.

I have searched three versions of the Bible for anything that tells me whom I shall hate and I have yet to find it.  In the Book of Proverbs I found what the Creator says is hateful to the Creator, but not a peep of what humanity should hate.

I would not have made these comments in a place that I did not consider open to dialogue on this subject.

I think her problem is "Not in my house!"  And she used the boyfriend/girlfriend not going to sleep in the same bed together reasoning to justify.  hardly the same as the boyfriend/girlfriend would not commit suicide if not allowed to sleep together, but a transgender child might if their mother is in COMPLETE denial of GID.   The problem is that it definitely creates denial of the problem or issue.  If at 18 the child leaves ( if they make it that far, some commit or try suicide as an option), I could see them never looking back.    Either way she would lose her son.

I would love to see her speak with Jaz or Riley's parents.... and meet those children.

Okay, I posted the other day giving this woman the pedestal she might be worthy of, she just has her opinion as wrong as we might see it.

Then I read several other posts :

Sherri Shepherd Needs (Another) History Lesson  http://www.aolvideoblog.com/2007/12/05/sherri-sheperd-needs-another-history-lesson/

Throw away your TVs  http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2007/09/throw_away_your_tvs.php

  • She does not know the world is round.
  • She does not believe in evolution ( even if the shaping of evolution is in or by  God's Hand )
  • She believe Christian's predate the Greeks
  • She believes her son will not have sex in her house.

Now understanding the level her brain operates, you would have had a better chance explaining ->-bleeped-<- to a Spanish Inquistioner than have Sherri Sheperd understand GID.

Her day is a coming.....

Well you know every town needs a village idiot, but  think that village haven't bothered to go fetch her yet. Actually I seldom get pissed off by people's stupidity, but when it comes to the caring ,safety, and education of a kid, I feel like strapping on my six shooters.

How can such a stupid person be hired on
a show which supposedly is about discussion
about topics. To represent the point of view
of the brain dead?

I have seriously considered that Sherri Shepherd was hired precisely to show people how much of a joke people with certain beliefs can be.  or, as an equal opportunity kind of thing.

Some day, flat earthers will need equal opportunity laws in order to ensure they are hired in the future because, if you are running a serious business, are you going to want to hire someone like that?  I just heard of a creationist suing a research lab for firing him when they discovered he didn't believe in evolution.  This could be a trend where flat earthers are becoming the next minority in need of protection.

What if the research company was working on gene therapy or something?  the guy's belief's might affect how he does his job, or he might even hamper the research in order to prevent something he believes is wrong.  Companies will not want to hire employees whose beliefs are actually antithetical to the work they are doing. There will be a segment of the population that will be unemployable even though they have graduated from college.
** I am just making suppositions and am not saying that people with different beliefs are bad.

My theory is that as society progresses, flat earthers may find themselves left behind.  In anticipation of the future need for affirmative action on behalf of people such as Sherri Shepherd, the producers of The View have hired one in order to show their sensitivity to this new group of minorities.
