Hello all~
I'm new here. I just bought my first official binder, thus I found it fitting that this would be my first post.

A bit of background: I've been binding with Ace bandages for 8 yrs so I was very stoked when i placed the order for my Underworks Gynecomastia Compression Tank. Ima pretty skinny guy (ribcage 28") but i got a lot of boobage (chest 34"ish). Reviews suggested getting a size up but i'm used to things being tight so i went ahead and ordered a small. All was good, my binder arrived in the mail, and i did my happy dance, until.... I TRIED THE BINDER ON AND WAS HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTED!

The tummy area was quite snug, as reviews warned, but was in no way uncomfortable. However, when it came to the chest area, the binder was completely ineffective! It was larger than the tummy area and fitted like a loose sports bra. I'm returning it first thing in the morning. I'm not sure if i should exchange it for a smaller size? Or maybe buy the Tri Top instead?. I feel very uninformed and skeptical that a binder that doesn't cause pain can do anything for my chest curves (Like if it aint hurtin it aint working, right? Jk i know thats not healthy). I'm not even sure if i should buy from a different company altogether...

As you can see I need serious help  :-\
Any tips on sizing or preferred models?

I swear by Underworks now, but I definitely struck out on the first one I got.

It sounds like you may want to try one of the shorter styles and size down (maybe). I have the tri top binder, and it works well for me (I have very large chest parts, and it gets me the flattest I have ever been able to manage). Double check the sizing chart though, because it is not very forgiving.

I have also heard great things about the Gc2b binders, so that might be worth checking out.

Good luck! Finding the right binder is so personal and tricky, but when you do, it's magical.

Sorry to hear that man. I bought the underworks tri top binder which binds pretty good. I think I'm 34 inches too and a 36 B in UK bra sizes. It doesn't bind nearly as well as my gc2b binder and it's also much more comfy and breathable. I now only use my underworks to sleep in as it's looser. Also you have to measure yourself exactly for gc2b. I went up a size just in case as when I ordered my underworks it was too small even though I measured myself correctly. So when my gc2b came it was too big and had to go with a medium instead of a large.

The double front compression tank and tri top are definitely the most effective styles, I would recommend those. Also you may consider looking at GC2B, those tend to be similarly effective for the same price but are much softer if the underworks material becomes annoying or scratchy.

I usually wear Underworks Tri Top, that's the best binder for me. I also have a GC2B, the short one, and it doesn't work nearly as good as the tri top in my opinion. But everyone's different. A lot of people love the GC2B binders, but they just don't really work for me.

The only issue I ever had with Underworks sizing was in the shoulders, but that is a common one. I just had to slide it on like a dress instead of pulling it on like a shirt. I prefer the 997 full tank to the tri-top, but I'm a bigger guy.

It sounds like you need a smaller size. You could also try folding up the fabric from the stomach area and double compressing the chest. If it's not tight, it shouldn't hurt you.

I think the problem is the one you ordered is more like a top similar to an Under Armor compression shirt.
The Tri Top Binder works great, that's what I used to use.

Yea I feel that, my shoulders are way broad. I ended up exchanging my order for a medium Tri Top and while I vacillated between getting the small I didn't want to kill my shoulders. I hope it works out, I'm so excited I could die >-<

And thank you to everyone else for the helpful replies~
