One of my trans friends likes trump. What do you think of Trump. What do think the implications a Trump presidency would be for LGBT people. I have some opinions but I will withhold them because I am more interested in what others think.

Your second post is well advised and intentioned, no doubt, as political passions rival any others around here.  Donald Trump is the breakaway leading candidate of the Republican Party although he was a registered democrat far longer.  I think he is entertaining, bombastic and scary to contemplate in a diplomatic setting.  He has made any number of contentious statements that give him press time while being outrageously inflammatory.  Heat without light.  His buffoonery is an insult to a political world that has less positive approval than snake oil sales people.  He is able to be on this stage primarily because he is a very wealthy man that can simply buy his way in.   Just a political opinion and don't we have plenty of that!   Can't wait for more >:-) ;D

This.

The only thing scarier than the idea of a Trump presidency is the notion that enough people might actually vote for him. The level of ignorance we've attained in this country is staggering.

The thing I find fascinating about Trump is his ability to go into a extremely high class expensive restaurant at any time of day and raid the refrigerator.

He does put the Oli in oligarchy and raids more than our refrigerators ;D ;D;  Who will he fire next, all of us?

I still have a bad taste after the Jenna Talickova issue when he refused to allow her to compete in his beauty contest until she threatened legal action.

He seems to appeal to the same sentiments as George Wallace did in the 1960s. He's popular among those voters who want Someone to Blame.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Of all the republican candidate, Trump is the only one I would want to see in office. (Personally I'd prefer Bernie Sanders). Trump might actually do something to help the economy after all he is a shrewd business man. I don't agree with everything on his immigration views. As far as LGBT issues goes, he's not going to help us like Obama has, but he's not going to doing anything to hurt us as he doesn't support any anti-LGBT legislation.

it is in my opinion that his taking office would stall most activity at a political level, his demeanor would be impossible to work with on any issue that has any sort of variance of opinion. his lashing out at people especially women  and other minorities without detailed information makes my spine tingle not in a good way. this is the first year I can remember that I do not have a choice of at least the better of two evils, thank goodness we time before it really starts
one day, one step, with grace it will be forward today

Trump;

I like his candor, but not some of his policies. Other politicians avoid saying things on their mind clearly due to offending someone or a group of people. Always in a broad sense. Maybe some of these "also runs" will come up to the mic more and spell out their platforms.

As an outsider I must say that you guys will have no idea what he will be like if elected.  He's pandering to the lowest common denominator that he thinks will vote for him, and is not really giving much of what he truely thinks away.
Nor is he likely to actually honor anything he says to the public.
If he gets elected though, and still needs to pander to the far right, the trans community is in deep doo doo.
Basically a more thorough version of what Australia went through, and got, in it's last election.

I would like to see Trump win the REP slot , that way the other contenders are eliminated for Pres.

Then in the National elections the voters kick Trump to the curb.

Trump do something for the economy? You are aware he declared bankruptcy multiple times, yes? He's about as qualified to lead a country as a toddler.

See here is the thing about trump, in a recent interview he said the following:
"I will rebuild our military. It will be so strong and so powerful and so great... that we'll never have to use it. Nobody's gonna mess with us."

Here is my problem with this:

What??  I mean...WHAT???  Military spending hasn't gone down, I think ever!  WHAT!?!?!?!

Anyone who can say that straight faced, and not see how ridiculous it is should not be allowed anywhere NEAR our budgeting for military.  His backwards, simplistic thinking will put us so far down a whole we may never recover, especially since having a standing military to NOT USE IT is one of the dumbest statements...ever!

The worlds second biggest, or was that third biggest, airforce is the US Navy.
That says a damn lot.

Trump is a rank idiot. He has failed in business more times than most everyone. He was born rounding 3rd and thinks he hit a home run. He will not be a successful president if he wins and he has no chance of winning the general election. He is the height of ->-bleeped-<-tery. The sad truth is that the Republican party is so obsessed with "others" that they've driven everyone that isn't white, mostly male, and religious out of their tent. They are not particularly relevant in national elections and it would be a huge huge upset for any Republican to win the presidency these days. The map and the demographics they've created for themselves with all of their "teal American" talk will be their downfall once again. I mean Obama wasn't all that popular last election and he still won quite easily.

my view on Politics, especially american politics is very negative, since I spent my free time gathering background information on buisness, corruption, banks, policits and so on.

I am not american, but my opinion on this is: The way wont change, everything will go on nearly the same way if seen general. Minor changes are task of a president, deciding where the country has to go, that is nothing the president has bother himself as other people do that for him. For Trump, he talks much and acts like a tough guy, I guess this is his main attribute.

I get his point, for me its also a dumb point but I can understand his point how view.
america needs defense and a huge military to scare other countries, starting war in other countries to make sure, no one is able to attack america.
I guess that is what he meant.

America has the advantage of their economy, their banks and their more than huge military. Their problem is, the economy/financial and bank part will suffer from more than huge problems in the future. Europe as ally has absolutely no military worth to mention and a economy that was sold to China.

As for Russia and China, that just united their military in purpose of ... guess what.. Russia has a huge military, not as much as america for sure, but better systems in terms of infiltration, hacking, air superiority and water superiority.
China has its economy that is still growing (0,5% less than before, wow! Other economys dont grow even that like).

So the problem Trump thinks, his country will suffer in the future is, their economy/financial will break down and together with europe (will face a more huge problem) they cant use their power of economy against potential enemies. The last year sanctions on Russia didnt hit them hard enough to let inner revolution and financial collapse break out, that was what was planned, didnt work, Russia is agressive because of that, China is too, they united, both have a problem with america so you may get now what I want to say.

Part of his persona is his showmanship. He loves the limelight and the PR he gets helps promote his projects. Quite frankly, I'm not even sure he wants to be president. I think he enjoys the show.

In any case, I refuse to vote for any candidate who may set back equality for all including transgender people. You see, I vote for MY own interests and making sure my rights are protected are at the top of my needs list.
