OK so no E yet, but I've been on a blocker for about a month and had a few laser sessions.

I seem to kinda pass in public like this, I think... maybe... well I didn't in the kid's playground even with my baby son, but only a couple of funny looks in the shopping centre.

I know eyebrows. Will be presenting M at work for some time. Also the glasses I should have taken off.

Anyhow.

Lol,

Omg eyebrows, NOTE im not luagthing at your eyebrows, Im luagthing because everybody tells me I should (sort my brows out), and I reffuse to.

But I just see a lady. With bushy eyebrows, truth be told I didnt give them any mind, untill I read your post :) And glasses, didnt give them anymind either.

But maybe the glasses do afford your face, a certian strange look. (possible reason for stares?)
If you feel uncomfatable in them, try a fem pair, this might take away some of that percieved strangness.

But, When I say strange, thats what I mean.

I dont think you look masculin on accout of your brows and glasses, maybe just, a little different, to what I would exspect.

But I see a woman, and wouldnt think man at all based upon how you look. Others might though, but I dont :)

Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I think that you have a good foundation with some feminine qualities to your face. When will you be starting Estrogen?

Lisa, you look naturally fabulous.

As the e kicks in and you go for it with beauty and makeup sessions you're going to be even more gorgeous. I wish I could pull your lovely look off with the minimal effort you describe ;) x

Dahling, you look fab!!!

Seriously, what a nice start - it's convincing and nicely done.  The big E will do wonders too but wow you're doing fine.  And the brows, Ok but you still look good!

The most important thing is  how do you feel, not how do you look.  Trust me, you look nice.  All that really matters though is how you feel.  When you accept you then the world will start ignoring you just like it always had before, and that's a wonderful place to be . . . just another girl (YEA!)

Wow, lots of positive feedback. :D

I don't really expect to be passing at this stage. I seem to do OK in public shopping and stuff, a few stares but nothing too bad. I did get a ton of stares when I was taking my baby boy to the kid's playground. I guess the mums there are on high alert or something? I was also there with another trans friend, so maybe the two of us together stuck out more? Maybe I should just stop scanning for stares. At the end of the day I'm a 6'4" woman so I'm sure to attract some attention.

I must admit, my biggest fear with this whole business is going through with everything and being treated poorly by society in general because of not passing or looking unusual. And, as much as everyone around here and everywhere is so positive, it's still a thing that can happen. I used to feel *very* uncomfortable around ppl who were visibly trans or cross-dressing, for sure that's internalized phobias, but one can't help but imagine being on the receiving end of it.

Anyhow, in response to comments:

I'm going to be getting some new glasses soon that are more feminine. I also wear contacts but have run out at the moment. Got quite severe astigmatism so contacts don't work too well.

Thanks! The hair is a wig, and it's on its last legs. I'm not sure if I'll get a new one or just wait until my hair grows out properly, but that's gonna take another year.

Depends, waiting on psychiatrist approval. Got a visit this week, hopefully then? I've been on cyproterone for a month but it's made me quite depressed. I've dropped the dose now however and the mood has improved a lot.

Heh, there was a fair bit of effort for that photo. Still getting the hang of make-up, it takes me a good hour.

That's the goal, to just be a normal girl and not have the trans thing dominate my life. I feel pretty good today, but some days I just want to cry.

The thing that worries me however is that my job involves constant, in depth, face to face contact with people all day. I hope it doesn't cause a problem there.

I think you look great. Once you start the E and finish dealing with the facial hair you will look even better.

You know those days you want to cry
Do you know why that is?

Maybe it is because you compare every day to your "good days" and notice not every day meet that hight.
Maybe starting to compare every day to you bad ones? Might make you feel better?

Note, Im not saying that you do compare every day to your good ones, Im just saying if you are, doing the oposite might help :)

I went from a shut in, to working in a charaty shop at my local comunity centre, I know your area is diferent to mine, but I ad these exact same feeling on the matter, I had those same internalised phbias, but you know what, for the ost part, the people aurprise me, for the better I might add :)

Actually I think it's been cyproterone that's making me depressed recently :D Since I dropped the dose I'm feeling good again.

But also - I was fine before all this stuff took over my life. Good job, great marriage, wonderful kids. Sure I had my moments, but mostly pretty good.

Now this... condition has taken over my whole life and thrown everything into chaos. Fortunately my family and loved ones all support me even if they are a bit worried. I don't want to let them down.

But really, I feel that it will be fine. I'm optimistic. Taking every day as a blessing and just going with the flow :D

A quick glance at your as I walk past you probably wouldn't register anything. Seeing a still 2d picture of you is less flaterring.
