Hello,

For the first time in my life I applied make up on my face and I applied foundation and some mascara and light colors on my eyes. The problem is that I don't really know what to do next... Should I put eye lashes ? do something to my eye brows ? are my hairs Ok ? I thought of using a lipstick but I can't think of any good color to match my skin...

Thanks for any help you could provide.

Well... I have a different skin color so I am unsure of how relevant it is to my case.

-you could try eyebrows
-you could have a look at the vid showing how to make lips look bigger
-you could have a look at further hints in the thread (I personally would stay with organic or natural products)

They are  :)
I didn't have a look at the photo.

You might try lipstick in unobtrusive colours...
like pink or nude colours... you might look around what the women in your place wear...
and you could try a few different things for eyelashes... there are forming pliers for example...

I think some you could have a lot of fun with eye shadows, and fake eyelashes are pretty cool also, your skin looks great already.
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

Before going to apply makeup, we have to know that there is a step by step process in applying the makeup. If we don't follow that particular process, we may not get expected results.

Following 12 are the important steps included in applying the makeup:

  • Know your Skin type
  • Get your Face ready
  • Applying Primer
  • Applying Concealer
  • Applying Foundation
  • Touchups
  • Applying Blush
  • Applying Eyeshadow
  • Applying Eyeliner
  • Applying Mascara
  • Doing your Brows
  • Applying Lipstick

Each of the above step includes a particular process. To get detailed information about each step, read the post - How to apply makeup perfectly.

Takes time but once you get used to it makeup gets much easier. take your time do little things. maybe get your eyebrows done. personally i pluck my own, but it's probably adviseable to get them done professionally fist time out. that way you get an idea of how to keep them.

also makeup is a personal thing. some will use a lot of products, Primer, concealer and such. And if you are trying to cover a shadow this may be nessesary. But i try to follow the less is more rule. though i may use a small amount of concealer on my top lip to cover a shadow if im going too be out all day, i tend to avoid it mostly just using a decent foundation. I find if i try to get my skin to be perfect i just end up looking like a pocilain doll. So i roll with the imperfections. concentrate on highlighting the features your most comfortable with. that way you destract from any areas you are less comfortable with.

Just remember dont go too over the top and you will be fine. :)

I always say "the less makeup, the more feminine you'll look". I think you did pretty well in the picture.

Face ~
Medium-Full Coverage foundation. To hide beard shadow, try applying an orange based lipstick before using foundation.
Apply powder after foundation to make it last a bit longer, especially around the T-zone.
Brozer is a wonder and can help you contour beautifully, look for your face shape for a contouring guide.

Eyebrows ~
Thinning you're eyebrows will instantly make you're face look more feminine, but don't go too thin unless that's the look you're going for; I'd recommend heading to a professional first and then plus yourself. They should not have sharp arches judging by you're face shape, try rounder, softer looking brows.
When filling them in, keep in mind that they should be either the same color as your hair or 2 shades lighter.

Eyes ~
Again, unless that's the look you're going for, neon-colors and colors that call too much attention should be avoided during the daytime. Softer colors like copper, gold, light purple, etc. are acceptable. If you want to use eyelashes, that is completely fine but make sure they are natural-looking(unless you want to go all out, then up to you again).
For nighttime, more attention-calling colors are acceptable as well as more dramatic eyelashes.

^ This look can work well with both day-night time makeup

Lips ~
Nudes, Burgundy, Dark Coral, Reds, etc all work great for both day and night.

You have amazing eyebrows already. Just get some clear gel for them to keep them in place.

Maybe some eyeliner and mascara would help. As for lips, a dark purple or a red would look best. If you're not bothered, maybe just some lip gloss.

Have fun!

Try the makeup brands that black women wear. Fashion Fair, Iman, Flori Roberts. These are the brands my girlfriend of many years used. Their websites also have application techniques. Most white women would kill for your lips. Just think how much money they spend trying to duplicate what comes naturally to you.
