Hi folks,
As some will know from my posts I'm going to have a revision of my SRS. Dr Chett has agreed to do some running repairs to his previous excellent work. You may ask why if he did such an excellent job am I needing a revision? Some of the fault is mine because since all the swelling has gone down my skin wasn't elastic enough to tighten up fully and this is in addition to a problem Chett pointed out with my Clitoral Hood. He told me that he ran out of skin so I never got a full one

There have been plenty of threads giving details about SRS including mine but I've not seen one about the procedures involved in having a revision with Chett. My SRS was March 31st this year so when the revision is performed I'll be a little over 27 weeks post op. I thought I would do a thread and anyone who has experience of a revision who wants to add their knowledge can maybe make this a resource for those who in future may need a revision.
The problem with the loose skin was evident before I left Bangkok and at my post op consultation Chett was able to say he can easily fix it if I am ever in Bangkok and inform him in advance. At 4 months post op I sent him some photo's advising him I can if he agrees to do my revision be in Bangkok for as long as he needs around the middle of October. Som informed me Chett will do the revision so once I inform them of my arrival date in Bangkok they will schedule it. I scheduled my arrival and was told he will do the revision for free the following day. Some things to note here that can prove important. While the revision is free you will not be collected from the airport as you are with SRS but they will collect you from and return you to your hotel. You are asked to allow at least 10 days post op before returning home and as it turns out I am now in Bangkok for 18 days. (Oh the hardship of it being forced to stay in my favourite city for so long

) To get around the airport collection you have some easy choices especially if you're going to be at Bangkok Rama, Hua Mak ARL station is really close by so is an option, You can get a taxi which I'm told is about 200 Baht or you can do as I did and contact the hotel and ask them for advice. Currently they are recruiting a driver and if one has been employed in time the hotel will give you complimentary airport transfers.
As of now Chett isn't saying what exactly he intends fixing until he has seen me so I am planning for all eventualities. I am expecting a local anesthetic and a fairly swift revision but if he has to do anything complicated to the clitoral hood that may change He has told me to stop my hormones 2 weeks before flying to Bangkok so I have stopped already. I have met one Chett patient who had a fairly similar revision and she had a catheter for 2 days so I'm anticipating something similar although being as my revision is a Thursday I may get one until the following Monday. I know my date but not what time my op will be as Som is expecting to e mail me information once Chett finalises his schedule.
So folks if you have revision related questions please feel free to ask them and I will endeavour to find the answer. I cannot obviously say if people need one or not but how it works and what level of after care you need and get I should be able to find out.
For any of you who are there at the same time as me I am willing to run small errands to TescoLotus while you're room bound. I'm going alone this time so I am anticipating a few excursions into Central Bangkok as Bernadette will be far far away and unable to stop me this time

Hugs
