Hi folks,

As some will know from my posts I'm going to have a revision of my SRS. Dr Chett has agreed to do some running repairs to his previous excellent work. You may ask why if he did such an excellent job am I needing a revision? Some of the fault is mine because since all the swelling has gone down my skin wasn't elastic enough to tighten up fully and this is in addition to a problem Chett pointed out with my Clitoral Hood. He told me that he ran out of skin so I never got a full one  :(

There have been plenty of threads giving details about SRS including mine but I've not seen one about the procedures involved in having a revision with Chett. My SRS was March 31st this year so when the revision is performed I'll be a little over 27 weeks post op. I thought I would do a thread and anyone who has experience of a revision who wants to add their knowledge can maybe make this a resource for those who in future may need a revision.

The problem with the loose skin was evident before I left Bangkok and at my post op consultation Chett was able to say he can easily fix it if I am ever in Bangkok and inform him in advance. At 4 months post op I sent him some photo's advising him I can if he agrees to do my revision be in Bangkok for as long as he needs around the middle of October. Som informed me Chett will do the revision so once I inform them of my arrival date in Bangkok they will schedule it. I scheduled my arrival and was told he will do the revision for free the following day. Some things to note here that can prove important. While the revision is free you will not be collected from the airport as you are with SRS but they will collect you from and return you to your hotel. You are asked to allow at least 10 days post op before returning home and as it turns out I am now in Bangkok for 18 days. (Oh the hardship of it being forced to stay in my favourite city for so long  ;D ) To get around the airport collection you have some easy choices especially if you're going to be at Bangkok Rama, Hua Mak ARL station is really close by so is an option, You can get a taxi which I'm told is about 200 Baht or you can do as I did and contact the hotel and ask them for advice. Currently they are recruiting a driver and if one has been employed in time the hotel will give you complimentary airport transfers.

As of now Chett isn't saying what exactly he intends fixing until he has seen me so I am planning for all eventualities. I am expecting a local anesthetic and a fairly swift revision but if he has to do anything complicated to the clitoral hood that may change He has told me to stop my hormones 2 weeks before flying to Bangkok so I have stopped already. I have met one Chett patient who had a fairly similar revision and she had a catheter for 2 days so I'm anticipating something similar although being as my revision is a Thursday I may get one until the following Monday. I know my date but not what time my op will be as Som is expecting to e mail me information once Chett finalises his schedule.

So folks if you have revision related questions please feel free to ask them and I will endeavour to find the answer. I cannot obviously say if people need one or not but how it works and what level of after care you need and get I should be able to find out.

For any of you who are there at the same time as me I am willing to run small errands to TescoLotus while you're room bound. I'm going alone this time so I am anticipating a few excursions into Central Bangkok as Bernadette will be far far away and unable to stop me this time  ;D

Well there are photos of cases of srs at the website of Dr Chettawut.
Would it be possible to describe some kind of comparison in any way ?

Hi Laura :)

I am assuming you mean compare my current result to one on his website so people have an understanding of what he originally achieved? I shall look tomorrow morning and see what he has posted and see which one most closely matches mine.

Yes it's a bit weird looking at other vaginas and trying to relate them to your own. Having had a look I believe mine doesn't resemble any of them. The closest could be number 2 but then I have allot more labia skin and a much larger clitoris but much less hood. Mine also seems to be shorter from top to bottom and I am slightly bigger framed than that lady seems to be so I am expecting Dr Chett to maybe have a bit more work than I thought  :-\

Chett did say at the post op consultation that given the material he had to work with my result was about the best he's had but maybe he says that to make you feel good. I am sure I'll know allot more in 3 weeks time when Chett has a good look about

SorchaC, sorry to hear that you have to get revision. Hope your loose skin is fixed. Chet is famous for using skin from different part to create neo-vagina though. May be additional Vitamin or Collagen could help with your skin elastic. Anyway I live in Bangkok and not far from Chet's clinic. In case you need anyone for any issue during your trip back here. You can contact me. Good Luck

As you describe it this should be a really good result.
Which should be even better after revision.

Well if he says so... given he has quite some experience... be happy  :)

hugs and wish you much fun during your stay.
Maybe Naeree can show you or tell you about a few nice places...  :)

Thank you Naeree :) I will try to enjoy myself and I'm sure there will be others at The Rama. If I am struggling for anything I will be sure to contact you. Likewise if you want a chat feel free to contact me :)

The few people who've either seem photo's or the real thing have been impressed with Dr Chetts work and I remain impressed. Although a revision is a further expense I am treating the trip as an excuse to have a bit of a holiday. I will behave and make sure whatever Chett does isn't damaged. I will ask him about what I can do to tighten my skin once he's done his work. I know he wants me to consider having abdomen sculpture as I do have excess body fat and loose tissue which he says needs more than liposuction but I am not in a position to fund such surgery and if I do become able I would likely have BA too but that's the future I guess :)

On another note. I have to praise Thim at Bangkok Rama she seems to be doing her best to help me not only with the Airport Transfers but I've asked her about the spa which the Rama used to have but is now permanently closed. She is fixing up an external massage person to come and sort me out and has also been good in helping me find a local Dentist to do some work in that department.

I'm excited about my trip as I know Chett will do more great work and the hotel will look after me if I ask for help. Further news to follow if anything of interest happens

I will endeavor to learn more in the coming days then i can enlighten everyone :)

Thanks Tree :) I will do an update below :)

So the driver came at just before 8am and took me to Chetts place. After the paperwork was completed I was told to get naked and given a gown before being told to relax in the room Chett uses for recovery. Chett came in and did a quick consultation. He was impressed with how I've healed and said my dedication to dilation was awesome :)

After this I was taken to the theater where Chett did a pretty vigorous examination of everything. He was allot rougher than I've ever dared be but it wasn't painful. After this I was wash and then shaved before the anesthetic, Chett warned me I would feel a small pain and he was right. I had 4 injections on my right labia but once he began cutting I could feel it so he put in 2 more in and still I felt it but I told him to just do it anyway :) He then did my left one and I felt that as well :( I had 10 injections in total and I have to say what  I felt was quite painful. A very sharp pain that went on for quite some minutes each cut.

After he got finished I was given a catheter and that hurt even more. I was then packed up and told no dilations now until Sri removes the packing and says it's ok. Overall Chett was as gentle as he could have been and was very sorry the anesthetic didn't really work but I don't think it was his fault. I've had problems with locals before.

I am now confined to quarters until further notice, The nurses will call in later and check I'm ok so overall I'm happy that I came and got this done and Chett and the nurses were very happy to see me again especially Noi who was hugging me and holding me as I went upstairs. She was also trying hard to comfort me during the pain.

Anyone who has any question feel free to ask :)

Sorcha:  So sorry for your pain.  It's one thing to anticipate it & then experience it, on the other hand when you expect to be feeling nothing and then it hits you like a hot bullet it's got to be a really scary.  Seems like he would have made some adjustments when he noticed your distress.  I know I don't want to go there.  Your a brave one.

Thanks Joi  :) When I first mentioned it he said it was just pressure but when he used something cold and I commented on how cold it was he realised I still had feeling and did 2 more injections. My eyes were covered to shield them from the lights so I couldn't see either just feel.  He was very apologetic but I just wanted it to end so I said it's fine we'll just keep going. Noi was marvelous holding my hand at one point and stroking my face and neck :)

Currently I have pain where the injections took place but I have lot's of Tramadol, I am allowed up to 6 a day plus paracetamol as and when I need it. Standing is a challenge due to pain from feeling like I need to pee even though I have the catheter.

Sri and Noi checked me earlier and the outer packing will come off n the morning. There is a drain in there somewhere and if that is empty the catheter can come out too :) That would be welcome relief right now but I want this to be perfect so I'll stand a bit of pain

Well Sri came a while back and removed the packing and 2 drains Chett had put in to help with swelling. I still have my catheter in until Monday but I can dilate again from today and shower from tomorrow :)

There is pain when I put pressure onto areas around my vagina or the bedsheets rub against where the drains came out. Sitting isn't fun but I have a new donut so that helps.

I had Sri take a photo and it looks red and angry with some bruising starting to come out. I am impressed by how good it looks so far though :)

Here's today's daily update brought to you in association with Chettawut Plastic Surgery Center :) Over the weekend since the packing was removed I developed serious swelling and bruising. It got so bad that I was starting to pull on the stitches and fluid was oozing from between the stitches. I was becoming increasingly concerned that the anti biotic cloxacillin that Chett had prescribed seemed to be having no effect. One of the girls recovering here sent photo's to her nurse friend for advice on if I should push the panic button and ring Chett out of hours but we concluded I would wait until the scheduled visit this morning. Luckily I still had my medication chart from my SRS and I decided to adjust my medication and dosage to that level and type from my own stocks and added some ibuprofen. Woke this morning to less pain and swelling and no oozing. Bruising appears to be less also so I was happy.

Sri came and removed the catheter and seemed happy with my healing so approved the new regime for a few days at least after I showed her the photo's,

I am hoping I have broken it's back. I felt well enough to visit bootifulone in Chetts place this afternoon so that is encouraging. :)

I will post updates on the healing

Hugz,

Joi

I went on a bit of a mission on Monday night escorting one of the girls on a shopping trip to downtown Bangkok, It was her last night and she'd not seen anything of the city so I wanted her to take some memories home. Finished the night off with a wee drinkie 85 floors up The Baiyoke Tower. What a marvelous view.

Sri has reported that all my swelling has gone as has most of my bruising and the skin is starting to cover over the stitches :) Healing is going so well I have been able to nurse bootifulone since she arrived back here yesterday.

Thanks for the prayers and love sent to me, Being here alone this trip has made the small troubles seem allot bigger and the big troubles seem like Mt Everest but I think I'm winning now. There is still pain sometimes allot of it and other times I cannot feel anything, I have 10 more days here unless bootifulone needs me to extend my trip to continue nursing her so I hope to go home healed and rested.

Hi Sorcha!

I have experienced some disturbing news from Dr. Chett.  Would like to get your opinion.  If you don't mind I'll send you a PM.  It's rather long, but it needed to be.

Hope my answer was helpful to you :) Things will all work out for the best I am certain :)

Time for a new update from Bangkoks answer to Buttlins :) Sri says that the healing is coming along well, Nearly all bruising is gone, I am seeing some local swelling where the incisions are. It reminds me of when you have a large spot which is really red, under the skin you can feel a lump caused by your bodies defences trapping any infection and fighting it. With luck this will all be gone over the weekend.

Things are definitely allot better than they were Sunday night when I really thought I was going to have another meeting with Chetts scalpel :)
