Does anyone have any tips for feminizing hair, in order to achieve a more fem/androgynous appearance? I have long hair, which I take care of with various shampoo's, conditioner's and spray's, but I still feel my hair looks a bit...well lank. It's clean and soft and everything, but it just looks a bit stringy and not at all feminine. I don't really want to look like a metal head guy, when I'd prefer to look andro.

Any help?

No, I'm no help because for the first time in my life my hair is getting longer and I am having the same concerns.  I strongly suspect though that the answer lies in getting your hair styled at a salon.

I haven't read all of the posts, so this may have been mentioned already, but if you aren't doing so already, your hair will benefit from getting the ends trimmed regularly, like every 6-8 weeks, also adding some layers to your hair can improve it's appearance by adding some lift to the weighted down areas, and it also makes it look more feminine.

If you have long hair some pins might help...
bangs might be a good idea, to cover the forehead and even the brows...
flowing and wavy like hairstyles...

I have mine layered and cut shorter on top so it stands up better. I use average shampoo and conditioner products. After I shower, I put some conditioning oil in it and some mouse. Then I style it with a hair dryer and one of those round metal brushes. I curl it in. The curls don't hold but it gives my hair lots of body. Surprisingly, it will last for a couple of days if I can't wash my hair every day. This month I had no water to the house for almost a week, so washing hair was just once in that time frame. It's good that I keep 30 gallons of water on hand for the toilets and my fridge is filled with more filtered drinking water than food for times like this. Yes, I use a well and every couple or three years something needs to be fixed. Thankfully it was not the well itself. I have neighbors who have lost their wells this year. I think that we've lost around 200 wells in our small community of 1700 just this year. I hope we have a very wet winter here in the Golden State.

unfortunately bangs covering the forehead does not work for everyone; hairstyles should be based on face shape, and that look does not compliment square and heart shaped faces.

Well its not only face shapes.
For some people covering areas can save a ffs.

And, well, imo a style with waves and curls, like with many round shapes, people usually tend to associate with feminine...
of course its individual...

I'll look into getting my hair trimmed and layered then. I think I'd prefer it to be straight rather than have bangs. In an ideal world I'd like to get to a point where I could look like one of the people in this documentary, particularly the one who identifies as Androgyne.

I am no hair expert, but I did grow up IN a hair salon...my mom, grandmother and grandfather were in the biz.  There are some difference between hairs, but they tend to do with growth rates, max length, thickness.  All somewhat or greatly effected by hormones.  We all have different hair types, working within yours will be key. 

I would agree with the above...find a good stylist.  They are literally worth their weight in gold if you can!  Specifically try and find one that understands you want a more feminine leaning hair style.
