Worst Cramps I've Ever Had

I started taking T a couple of years ago and things seemed to be going okay other than that I wasn't seeing much in the way of changes.  A couple of months ago I started getting my rx through my general practitioner who doubled my dose because after almost 2 years on T I wasn't seeing some of the normal changes.

Things have been great since doubling my dose except I've been getting really severe cramps that are much like menstrual cramps.  It feels like someone took my ovaries out, hit them with a meat mallet, and put them back in.  One side is worse than the other but both sides are painful.

I haven't had a period in a long time and my period is usually uncomfortable(obviously) but I was never prone to excessive cramping.  I rarely had to take anything for it but now I've been taking a double dose of ibuprofen at least once a week.

I suspect it's directly related to my T cycle because the cramps usually happen the day after my shot and maybe the day after that.  I know that I should talk to my doctor because it could be any number of nasty things like endometriosis, ovarian cysts, stones, etc but I really wanted to hear from other guys on T.

Any of you guys had a similar problem?

I had this problem back when my doc doubled my dose around I think it was 6 months tbh I don't remember. But I started getting the worst cramps of my life and awful hot flashes, they were both so bad I would curl up and really not be able to function. It went on for a few months but it's stopped now that I've been on this dose a while. I was told by my doctor and other trans guys that it was normal.
Honestly I still do get the cramps from time to time, not quite as bad or as often, and I've been told the only sure fire fix is to get a hysto.

ZombieDog, I feel for you, being on t so long and now getting bad cramps.  Work with your dr and hopefully you will be like CursedFireDean case and they will stop soon. I think a total hysto is what we need sometime after starting t, get rid of the parts so they can't keep causing problems.

Personally, I think you should see a Dr.  One guy I knew developed an ovarian cyst after he had been on T for a while. I don't know what your insurance covers, but if you do have a cyst and want an OVH, it would count as a non-elective procedure instead of a transgender procedure and would probably be covered.

People are comfortable at different stages of transition as far as how much surgery they want. As long as you have ovaries, you will still make some estrogen and have competing hormones. I don't know the long term results of that, but regardless, if you didn't have cramps before, you really should see your Dr.
