Hey everyone,

I've just had my fifth lip/chin laser hair removal session. Up until now, I've had good progress with hair gradually disappearing. After this past session, it hurt a little more than usual, and my lip and chin have been growing at their pre laser rates! I called the office and they said just give it a few days before they fall out. It's been a week now.

Has anyone any tips or experienced anything like this?

The technician at the place  I go to explained that hairs can suddenly come out of a resting phase and start growing almost at random. The same thing happened to me a little while ago - I went from feeling that I was nearly clear to a state of random growth. I've had that lot lasered since and it's now better than before.

She said that it's not a quick process - just have to stay with it. Laser has been amazing for me and I'll carry on with it for as long as I need to.

My 5th was a couple of weeks ago. Its JUST now starting fall out. I'm a little frustrated that I had more hair this time, but they had to re-schedule me and it was later. I've also noticed a lot of my dark hairs have light roots. I'm pretty sure the laser can't get that. I'm going to start electro once I've had #6 to get the light colored hairs.

I didn't realize that hair roots were so finicky if not so resilient. Amazing how adaptable our bodies are...

The really frustrating part is many times it starts to fall out when the new stuff starts to come in. At least with me.

The new stuff?? What do you mean?

I think it would be real frustrating to have the hair fall out right before another session--is that what you meant?

I am seeing someone about electrolysis tomorrow. This will be the second person I have seen and I have a quote from the first ones of no more than 150 hours max but they also want me to have special kind of laser treatment which cost $1300 per treatment and I need three, I think we will see how we go with the straight electrolysis.

This woman I am seeing tomorrow only does the electrolysis and a couple of other treatments but mainly for the last 5 years she ash been doing hair removal and she claim to be trans friendly with a number of trans clients. Anyway will check her out tomorrow. She is really keen to do a treatment after the initial consult. If I am happy with everything then I will most likely have a session tomorrow...will let you know how I go

I am not american: when you all refer to electrolysis are you talking about ipl or is there another way to remove body hair that i am not aware of? Haha

no electrolysis is when you get poked with a needle, zapped with electricity, and the hair falls out. Unlike laser (or IPL) this will actually do any color hair on any color skin. But each hair has to be poked one by one. So many recommend laser first and electrolysis to clean it up.

had a discussion today about this with the woman who does the electrolysis and she has also recommended I do the laser first, which I am organising now...I am in South Australia and the one I have found is only 20 mins away...just waiting on a call for a consult BTW I love your hair color

So the laser just, as you said, made the follicles come out of "resting," and most have stopped growing again. So that's a relief. I just didn't experience them growing back so quickly the following day after just getting zapped! how strange.
