Hi,
Im new to this site and also just recently started on my journey to being the woman i always knew i was inside. I have so many emotions thundering around inside and a feeling of excitement at finally being a woman.
Im sorry if my question has been asked before, but when i start HRT i realise i have a long road ahead but what can i expect ? how does my body change? I'm sort of expecting amazing things like wow theres a woman staring back at me in the mirror but i expect everyone changes differently. there just doesn't seem to be a manual on all this. for instance will my legs change ? i have fairly skinny legs and would so love to have shapely ones.
id really appreciate any comments on this.
hugs,

Everybody is different so it's hard to write a manual on this some people bloom after a few months and in a couple of years reach impressive measurements while others like be can be on it for 5 year and only reach a AA cup(american for very small). Even today after years of hormones I only reach about half way between an A cup and a B cup. Others report C and D cup size. Development below the waist varies as well. I have shape but it isn't excessive. What will happen to you is based on your genetics and the time you are on HRT. Be patient because for many the first year or two can be slow. A CIS woman may take up to 10 years to reach full maturity and we develop at a similar rate.

I hate roller coasters! I get frightened :embarrassed:

Your body changes, your brain changes you see things differently. You feel sad when things go too slow, you are happy when nice changes happen that you like.

You fight to be you, you feel like crap when it all fades away.

You have times of great joy, and then walk into a brick wall.

Everyone accepts you, and then people reject you.

You cry. You are alone. Why did I do this?

Wow! I'm me! Look people I'm the person I was meant to be - love me!

Oh? I'm just another woman, same as every other woman.

Oh, I'm happy.

I hate roller coasters; they frighten me.

But I loved this one.

Its possible imo behaviour and feeling shift more towars intuitive-emotional...

people report a heigthened sense of smell,
some report a better vision... there was a study showing red colours might be more pronounced...

some people report a shirinking in size, and also in shoe size... theory has it its due to a shrinking in tissue betweeen bones...

well here are some more changes... all changes are individual...
1–3 months after  starting estrogen
                  • softening of skin
                  • decrease in muscle mass and increase in body fat
                  • possible redistribution of body fat to a more "feminine" pattern
                  • fewer instances of waking up with an erection or spontaneously
                    having an erection;
Gradual changes
                  • nipple and breast growth
                  • slower growth of facial and body hair
                  • slowed or stopped "male"-pattern balding

Thank you cindy,

I hate roller coasters too !
Thats a great post, i am beginning to feel exited about the future, i hadn't thought about the fact that one day ill be just another woman, i suppose i hadn't really dared to think that far ahead. although i will be very happy to be that !!
I have been alone already and I've cried already, a lot if I'm honest, my feelings change from why did God do this to me, to i can't wait for the "butterfly" moment when i start passing.
Im so glad your happy, it gives me encouragement.
And i too want to love this roller coaster.

Hi Laura_7,

Thank you for the insight into what i can expect,
I'm only a 6 1/2 shoe size anyway but smaller feet would be good.
there doesn't seem to be any disadvantages in the effects of HRT, especially as they lead to my ultimate goal. If there were I'm sure they would be worth it.
Thank you for the link, i had been considering a vegetarian life style, i was just concerned about how it would affect my HRT.
Do you know if there are any proven advantages for a MTF ?

Hugs,

There are no advantages that can be proven.  However, there is anecdotal evidence that at least some ftm and mtf may be able to better access both sides of their brain.  This would seem to indicate that TS of both types might possess both male and female strengths.

Don't ask me to prove this though and I'm not sure how one could prove it anyway.  Maybe that strength some report is due to something else and not related to TS at all.

Well advantages of a vegetarian style imo are feeling lighter and more healthy...
in my case it was simply a feeling...
the hint with the avocado oil was from a doctor..
he said there are ingredients which might help a more female fat distribution...

Julie summers

 Hi  :)
i started in may on hrt and my personal experiences before i started and when i did involved a lot of research.
Every body experiences changes differently but the are also many similarities.
My suggestion is do the research and don't build your hopes up that your going to look like a super model.
the reason for this it will make the changes seam to take forever or you could be drop dead gorgeous in 6 mouths.
Then i will hate you forever ;D just kidding.
And if at any time you feel its not what you want stop. no one said you have to keep going.
im passed my 6 mouth marker and have no intentions of stopping.
I think and its just my option the best thing to do is research on everything and ask question like you did from experienced women here.
its a long road and in some cases not a easy one.
That's all i got right now hope this helps.

hugs

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your advice and support,
i have a feeling my progress will be on the slow side so you won't have to hate me forever ;D, although i would love the super model progress !
Its lovely to have so many experienced women on here to help and give reassurance to us girls that are just starting out. it even feels great just to say that.  the feeling of relief at being honest with myself is amazing, i feel like shouting it out loud, but i guess thats not a good idea  :)
