I am sorry you had this experience. I know there are sadly quite a few surgeons out there who do not want to perform "on demand" surgeries with people who have certain conditions, among them HIV. I think I had to do a HIV test even before I was admitted to GRS back when I did that. I know that in present times, this should not be as much of an issue anymore. I have the impression, Asian countries are a bit lagging behind in terms of adopting a HIV friendly policy? Maybe because of some cultural reasons. They should be educated about this - are there any ways to bring information to surgeons who have fear of HIV that can convince them that this fear is not warranted? Reserach articles, Flyers, Leaflets, direct contact with HIV activists who have good information and a good reputation?
