Welcome to Susan's Place. The simple test is that you are here and you are asking the question. CIS (people comfortable with the way they were born) don't do that. I know that's not good enough for you and it wouldn't have been good enough for me either. A gender therapist would help you sort this out as well but should you spend the money? Lucky for you there is another option. Go to youtube and request "the transition channel". This is the same material that I covered in therapy about 35 years ago and it's still as useful as it was then. It amounts to a series of questions and your answers will answer your question. Good luck with it and feel free to ask any more question on this thread as I will be notified when you post to it and return to check your post.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

And please for the sake of privacy think about changing your screen name if that is your real name.

As far as a female name, there are a lot of places on the internet you can look up baby girl names and go through them at your leisure.  The only advice I have is that you try to find something that fits your personality.  Some of us opt for female versions of our male names, but you do not have to do that  --you can choose anything.

Should you desire to change your name, just post the new name in the thread and I will change it as soon as I see it. The members tab in the upper right of the screen will allow you to check if your name you desire is already used.

For name selection i found a helpful site that told me basically to pick one of my old schoolmates names, this way the name kind of matches your age and popular names at the time and rekindling these memories helps you identify with it.

As Dena says if you are questioning if you are trans there is a very good chance that you are. There are a few "tests" you can sort of run on yourself though. When you read a book or watch a movie do you identify more with the male characters or female characters? Hypothetical situation, you are a ghost. You get to come back to life for one day as the gender of your choice. Which do you choose? Hypothetical situation two. A mad scientist zaps you with a ray gun that turns your body into a genetic female. Do you try to find a way to turn your body back or are you fine that way?

Of course in the end only you can tell if you are transgender or not and seeing a therapist helps.

You might have a look here:

Well imo many transgender people are likely to kind of read others expectations... and some try to adapt to it, until they find out its not them...
so you might simply think about how things make you feel... if they give you a feeling of joy... regardless of expectations...

Well in your country as far as I know people go either to a doctor or a psychologist and state they are transgender.
They are then referred to special psychologists and centers.
You might look up on the internet how the process works in your country.
There is additionally the option to go private abroad, to london for example.
You also might look for an online therapist privately:

Being transgender is a spectrum. There are people who dress as women from time to time, there are people with androgynous looks and hairstyle, and there are people who want to transition and live fully as women.
Its up to each person to find out where they are happy.

And you might have a look at this thread, there are other young trans people there:

Well concerning your name I'd say its not really rare so there might be a few people in your country with that name  :)

Concerning female names there are a lot of ways to come up with them:
-the name people would have been given by their parents
-a name from a story, a book...
-a name people simply like
-a name of a relative

etc.

It might be fun to look up meanings of names on urbandictionary, ignoring mean comments.

Some names simply attract...

nice names might be:
amber
lauren
laura
samantha
alexandra (with short forms like alex, sandy, sandra...)
ember
ash
vivien

You might also look up sites with baby names from your country...
there should be a list of the most famous names.

Are there any names that resonate with you or that you have always liked. Secondly, only you can decide if your trans or not. No one else. It does sound like you most likely are, but again only you can truly determine that. A therapist could help you sort through bot. Names take time and you may even try one or two or more out for a spin before you find one that is you. There is no need to rush, the right one will come. i agree looking at books and name sites can help maybe find one that does resonate with you. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs
