Update:
My 2 supervisors made me come to their desk to have a talk about it.
They told me that they are going to fully support me on my transition and that no discrimination will be tolerated. They admire my courage. We started to plan things together.  Next week they are going to introduce it to supervisors of other service, on wednesday they have set a lunch with my close team so i can announce to them before the others . Then on friday they will give me sick leave and they will announce it to people concerned. Why on next friday? Christmas vacations for 2 week then on january 1st 2016 i am going back to work but as a woman.

Here we do not have such a great HR department. There is no rule, and I had to figure out how to express myself. It has caused a lot of fuss and gossip.

The latest event was a kind of warning from the university president: refrain from posting my bikini photos in Facebook. My response was to erase my current affiliation in the Facebook profile, as some argued that my workplace is anyway related with my Facebook activities.

As you have educated persons in your workplace, you have nothing to fear. If I work at a place like yours, I would bike to workplace while wearing bikini in summer.

Anyway, congrats!

Where are you from Archlord? Did I read somewhere that you resided in Canada? If so I am not surprised at how supportive all your supervisors and managers seem to be.

I live in California myself and my store manager LOVES me, so do all my coworkers. I was talking to my boss yesterday and he called me our store's "all-star sweetheart," and there are about 100 workers at our store. It was pretty encouraging knowing how accepting society seems to be of trans people now. Here's to hoping acceptance keeps continuing and improving!

Congrats girl!  Wonderful news that your workplace is so accepting.  I had started telling some of my co-workers about my plans to transition. I actually got a call from HR saying they had heard a rumor that I was going to transition and that they wanted to let me know that they were there to provide me with assistance and support. I hope your transition at your work goes as well as mine has.

Uhhhhh what??? How do you still pass as male at your workplace that you have to come out as trans to them?!

This was back in April. I had been planning on going to them once I was done speaking with some of my co-workers who I personally wanted let know of my plans to transition before going to HR.  It did not change my time line any since I had already filed my name and gender change petition with the courts and I had my hearing date date for late May.

Update:

OMG today was the day.  I am officially out to everyone at work.  My supervisor called me and told me everything went well and people are just supportive.  He also told me that it took a weight off of a few people and that it explained a few things to others. They are going to name me Élodie when i will come back at work on january 4th.

Congrats! I avoided that situation by being transferred from the call center I worked at to the medical research section that is handled my HRT & transition. Don't know if I'll go to the call center once I'm a full girl (Apr'16) Good Luck!
