i have a few questions to ask at once... save time.

1. i apply for a name & gender change & have gone 1year with HRT but has not had surgery... do you think my court case might get tossed?

2. i got a court date and time and place but i am a little concerned that it is a little early?... 10 days after i sent in paper work i got a court date & time and place & my court date takes place 1 month 1 week after that ten days a total of 1 month and 2 weeks i had to wait.... is that to early will my case get tossed?....

3. i though i read on the Bill AB-1121  it said this ** (3) For any petition under this subdivision, the current legal name of the petitioner shall be kept confidential by the court and shall not be published or posted in the court's calendars, indexes, or register of actions, as required by Article 7 (commencing with Section 69840) of Chapter 5 of Title 8 of the Government Code, or by any means or in any public forum, including a hardcopy or an electronic copy, or any other type of public media or display. **

there for why is my local court posting my address, name, name and gender hearing live on there website?... for anyone to see who is looking as well as the calendar date for my court hearing & what time and date and room?

this is all to much to handle you know what i mean OMG....

please someone give me a little advice here

Honestly I wish I could Give you some advice. Unfortunately I have not made it that far. I would suggest calling the court house and asking for some direction as to what you might need to do.

Hope everything works out for you[emoji1]

1) It shouldn't matter.  If you have the letter from your doctor with the correct wording on letter head, that should be enough.

2) That is quick, but an early court date is not a reason to deny the case.

3) It is unfortunate that it is on their website.  They do have to have that information at the court house, so people can object to the petition.  The intent of AB-1121 was to not make transgender people petitioning for the change to have to publish it in a local newspaper.

I would present as the gender you really are.  If you are MTF then girl mode and something feminine.

There are a number of resources and faqs you can look at supplied by the Transgender Law Center on their website if you have any more questions. They even have some prospective ways you can deal with any transphobia you might come across in the court proceedings. I agree with all that Jessica has already said, and wish you good luck for speedy and successful proceedings :)
