I started with streight electrolysis and had very poor results.  I then went with a combination of electrolysis and thermolysis.  She was good and she was fast but it was still a slow and painful experience.  Thirty sessions at two hours and $150 each cleared maybe 25% of my face.  I stopped treatment for FFS.  After that, my insurance company suggested I go to an in-network doctor who was running a YAG laser and would also coordinate electrolysis so that all would be covered under insurance. 

It took the doctor about three 20 minute sessions with the YAG to star getting kills.  Twenty sessions later, I had no black hair left on my face.  Then, I went back for electrolysis/thermolysis which should clear my face in a total of 10 two hour sessions.

If I were to start again, I would start by reading my insurance policy.  I would have saved $4500 simply by knowing how to get it covered.  I would also start with a physician using the YAG to get rid of the dark hairs.  Then, I would finish off with the electrolysis/thermolysis.

My elctrologist had aloe vera plants, and she would break off a little after my treatment and apply the fresh aloe to my face; it felt amazingly good, and it helped reduce the inflammation.

I had the opposite concern.  I had already been on hormone therapy for several months, was living full-time as a woman, and wanted to eradicate my facial hair.  My hair was light so laser was not an option.  Traditional electrolysis meant growing out a larger and larger portion of my beard every week to prepare for treatment.  The possibility that that would be noticeable was my fear.

So I decided to do volume electrolysis every six weeks.  After four full face/neck clearings and achieving a 50% reduction in facial hair, what was left was mostly fine and invisible.  Weekly sessions then became practical.

I started Electro in November, done about 4.5 hours so far (more about high bookings at this time of year)...
Been on HRT for a long while now... For the rest of the day a little redness, very slight swelling... I am on 27Mhz thermal at the moment and she is working on under my chin and up to the chin line, today was the first day I had slight discomfort on one or two zaps. I have not had any blood spots or sores as yet.
I have white/Grey facial hair, worst type, but maybe the long HRT has helped?
Oh other good news is... very little regrowth well read that as minimumal, but will still take up to 2.5 years at an hour a week to permanently clear it, but will move to 1.5 to 2 hrs per week as soon as booking time allows.
But do so I love the clean smooth skin I am getting from it
