A few good ones people chose that I would agree with...
Blade Runner
Princess Bride
Boondock Saints
My Fair Lady

But for me, and maybe cause I am a bit picky,
My Favorite is Lawrence of Arabia.

If I had to pick a runner up.

I can't pick just 2 either so...

1-"Night of the Iguana"
2-"Evil Dead 1&2"
3-"Army of darkness"
4-the entire "Subspecies" series.
5-"Heavy Metal" and "Heavy Metal 2000".

To name but a few fav's. Hope that's o.k.

Nero, you always ask the toughest questions :) I mean, keep it to two, that's soooo hard to do, but here goes:

1) Manic - Love the story, love the dialogue and mostly love the way the music, camerawork and story weave together.

2) wow, this is harder than I thought...it was a toss up but I'm going to go with a movie called "All The Real Girls" for the same exact reason as #1.

Next time give us like 5 movies Nero :)

It's so hard to pick a favorite. It would be easier to list favorites in each genre.

I led discussions at our senior citizens gathering last week on these three movies:

Jesus Camp (documentary)
Birdcage (comedy/drama)
The Fog of War (documentary)

All three very good and very thoughtful. they may not be the best in their genre but still very good.

Willi Wonka and the Chocolate Factory... the original w/Gene Wilder, is corny, crazy, yet filled with hope (plus, there are times when you just can't get enough chocolate)  ;)

There are several others that I really enjoy... but that one keeps coming to the top. Is one of those movies I can watch regardless of what mood I'm in.

Oh yes I love that movie. It always puts a lump in my thought. And the new version ticked me off. I wanted to take out both Depp and Berton.

Blazing Saddles!
End of Days
All three Terminator films...and anything with Arnie in it.
O Brother Where Art Though
Swingblade.
anything Cohen brothers

Annie Social

Cannery Row - Nick Nolte, Debra Winger, Audra Lindley and M. Emmett Walsh in a film based on a couple of Steinbeck short stories. Narrated by John Huston.

And Citizen Kane.

It's a Wonderful Life
The Thin Man
Breathless
Breakfast at Tiffanys
Godfather 1
Harold & Maude
Taxi Driver
Annie Hall
Breakfast Club
Blue Velvet
Pulp Fiction
Fight Club
Hedwig and the Angry Inch

I think I left a bunch out, but that is a pretty eclectic list.   I'm looking forward to the new Todd Haynes movie where Cate Blanchette plays Bob Dylan.

Underworld and Underworld Evolution are my two favorites, but there are so many great movies I can't possibly be held to that statement. I definately second the motion that we need a longer list. I mean come on:

All three Matrix's, All three Blades, Braveheart, The Last Samurai, definately The Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights (anything produced by Mel Brooks for that matter), Batman Begins, V for Vendetta, Hitch, The original Star Wars trilogy, etc., etc.. Blah, I could go on and on... Wait, does that cement my place as an official nerd? Maybe I should retract my list...

always thought most were fine with trans, it is ->-bleeped-<- which gets people spitting.
  •

Jake_to_Jackie

actually yeah i think your right i think it is ->-bleeped-<- I'm sorry. Again I personally dont get offended by any of them except he/she shim/ ->-bleeped-<-, and the one i hate the most IT. I would always call people sissy till i offended someone. But when i used sissy i did not mean it as the insult. not like wmp or any thing like that I ment it as sister. but this is off subject. I want to add Hairspray to the list of my movie favs

Your super sistah,
Jaclin
