I feel for them. Walked out of the ladies in a restaurant the other day, hit my head on the doorframe, and my wig shifted back about half an inch. At least it didn't fall off lol.

And I was wearing flats 😀

That is too funny even though it isn't. I have to wear my heel so that I can put dishes away in my top cabinets. or change a light bulb.

No, it was too funny

I have friend who is 4'11" and she can't reach anything on the shelves in my kitchen. She does get to wear the cutest clothes. i had one woman tell me she wished she was as tall as I was because it was so attractive. There are positives and negatives to everything.

If you're tall then you're going to stand out. There are good reasons for being proud of what you have.

I then asked him if he has ever been to a city, where a six-foot-tall chick doesn't mean anything, and he said he lives in a huge metropolitan area. He stated that I must be surrounded by Amazonian women for people not to make a huge deal out of my height. Obviously, it hurt, because he had no problem with me being trans until I stated that I'm tall.

Yet, I start Googling things, and I encountered this "Ideal Female Height" forum, in which the first six posters all maintained that heights ranging from 5 ft. 9 to 6 ft. in females is very attractive "because legs".
My boyfriend obviously likes my height, and he says it's okay because I'm slender (with 6.3-inch wrists, 16-inch shoulders, and 35-27-38 measurements), yet people still makes fun of it, which hurts since I can't do anything about it.

So, is height something that will prompt people to wonder if I'm transsexual, even as a very passable trans woman? Is 5 ft 9.5 a big deal, notably in the big city, like where I live? At what point does height become a legitimate concern for someone who is afraid of being clocked?

I'm really curious about others' perspectives.

I am 5'9" on the dot and have no problem passing, and I ALWAYS wear heels, bringing me closer to 6'. Sometimes I see other women stare at me on the street, but usually they stare, then look at my shoes, see my heels, and then keep on moving. I've had multiple cis girls who had no clue that I'm trans comment on how jealous they are of my height. My best friend, a cis girl, is 5'8", and then I have in my group of friends cis girlfriends who are 5'8" and 5'9". My closest family friends, the mother is 6', and they have two daughters, one 5'9", one 6'. So they idea that any girl over 5'7" is immediately "clockable" is utterly ridiculous. That's my two cents :-P. What I think people clock is insecurity. So if you're 5'9", OWN THAT MODEL HEIGHT! Work it!

I guess you are right. at least I can wear heel and still not be taller than most people. My Guy Scott is 6'-4" like my brothers. I don't have to worry about hitting my head. But is is have to change that light bulb and reach up high. and when I sit in my Jeep Sahara i have a seat that raises for me so I can look over the steering wheel. Heel don't lift your ass on a seat. LOL

I was among the taller of my school grade until 7th Grade through 9th Grade; my class-mates grew around me and I was suddenly in the middle average.

Then I had another growth spurt and topped at 5'11"; again I felt awkward so I took advantage and played on the high school basketball team where I was short among seven-footers. That solved my self-consciousness of height.

I joined a 'tall club' when I began transitioning and again was among the shorter of the other women; 5'10" was the entry height. I did work as a videographer; being taller helpt get a good view over the shorter heads in front of me.

Yep. It is about perspective.

I came to accept and 'own' my tallness; I like my height. Hopefully, you will accept yours.

Hit the nail on the head, sweetheart. I've had a guy flat out tell me that he wasn't attracted to women bigger than he was. He was 5'8", I was 5'9" and built like a football player. I completely emasculated him. So confidence issues? Definitely. Half the women ive dated have been bigger than I was, especially in high school.

Ps. Tell the little guy to visit the Dimond Blvd Fred Meyer in Anchorage, Alaska at around 5pm. I'm 5'9" and stand about 3-4" shorter than 90% of everyone i see in that place, including women. Something in the water for sure. But the opposite applies in Geogria/Alabama; I'm 3-4" taller than 90% of women and the same height as everyone else. Geographic region plays a hell of a role.

I'm 6'3"... had a dream the other night where everyone was 7 or 8 feet tall, or I had shrunk to 5 foot. It's a weird experience looking at the underside of peoples' chins, or up their noses!!

Also 5'9". I come from a Mexican family and live in an area with a Hispanic majority and damn do I feel oversized among my own people. Lmao seriously. When I'm walking down the street or at a store or restaurant or something, I'm usually the tallest. Most Hispanic dudes I see are usually like 5'7" and chics are like 5'4". But when I go to different parts of the city, like the nicer parts, I see hot chics that are like my height or taller. I've seen a few who look like models and are at least 6'3" It really depends in the area you're in. I know where I'm moving when I finish school.

I'm not a thin 6'5. At 19-20 I was 245 w/ 19" arms and 54" chest. No more...way overweight. Should weigh about 215. 4 years ago my LBM was 210. At 53, May be its 190 now. Amazon eve is probably under 200. I am a long way from 215 or 245. If there is a god, it has a f'd up sense of humor putting a female like brain in an incongruent body.

The average American woman is 5'5". That would seem to make 5'7" not more than one deviation off of average. But maybe I'm rationalizing, since I am 5'7" and blocky. 😉 (I was 5'8" pre-HRT.) However, the consensus among everyone I've ever complained to about being too tall is that anything under 6' is just "sexy tall," not excessively tall. I think this guy is just rude and insecure, as others in the thread have said.

(And I have cis female friends over 6'; that's not saying that taller women are necessarily in trouble either.)

I'm ftm, but I'm 5'11/6'0 now (I grew!) and people didn't think much of it until i mentioned my age. There's lots of girls in my family who are 6'1+, don't worry! and you see girls taller than 5'6 all the time
