Basically once she found out she flipped out saying I'm a guy and reported me, and I got my profile closed down by okcupid. -_- So I don't use that site anymore.

Wow. So how long ago was that? To me it seems there is a difference between the transfriendly image they try to project and their actual policy. If that's the case, they should be called out for that.

Anyway, take your time to build up your self-confidence. This is not a race and you're not in a hurry. Be patient, make little steps, and keep in mind you're just starting your journey.

Yes, small steps. Today I actually went out on the street for the first time. I was very scared, was in public transport during rush hour, but nobody noticed :)

I've had no problems on OKC other than a couple spammers. I'm very upfront about being transgender, and I feel that keeps people who aren't interested away.

Hugs, Devlyn

However, people pay to be on a site to meet their ideal mate, and I've wondered whether they're wiling to pay to meet a trans person when there are a lot of cis people there. Haven't been willing to risk money to find out.

well as someone from the transgender dating site wrote:
we're a rarity you're a commonality...
so... have some self confidence and give a few things a try  :)

Hey Lyndsey,

W00t! You want to know how I make out with my online dates?  ;)

Well, I only subscribed today and wasn't very active yet, but it seems there aren't a lot of Dutch people on that site (six Dutch guys who'd like to date transgirls like me). I did receive a few messages though, which had a more respectful tone of voice than I get on OKcupid. But all from much younger men living far away from me. I prefer the daddy type who lives nearby.

From a developer's point of view, I'm a bit critical about the site. It's slow, sometimes suddenly logs you out, the design is outdated, it has too much functionality, but does seem to be actively used. Actually my fingers are itching to redesign and write some code. Maybe I should build one.

I still have to try the other site.

Hugs,
Naomi
