Waex

Hi I hope I'm posting this right. My name is Waex (mtf) and I started hrt on January 19 2016. It's been less than a week and I can already feel changes! I feel more like myself. The war inside my head is over!

Hi Waex, welcome to Susan's Place! We often hear of a calm that descends on people after starting HRT, a feeling of things finally being "right".  :)  Here are some helpful links. See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Thanx everyone. A little more about myself: I'm 39 Years Old and am an Artist and a Musician. I live in a conservative part of Kentucky but I am open about my gender and the people that matter to me accept me. A goal of mine is to go back to college and get my degree in fine arts. It was after a suicide attempt that I decided to transition. If I was willing to die that I must be willing to live as my true self. Calling a trans suicide hotline was the best thing I could have done. They suggested a clinic and I received my first injection on my first appointment. Being bipolar I have had quite a few bad therapists and psychiatrists who have told me in the past that I was too sick for HRT. The difference with this clinic was night and day. Now I'm seeing a therapist in my area who doesn't specialize in gender but nonetheless she is respectful and invaluable in my transition. The trans community saved my life.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I was also at the point of suicide when I made the decision to transition. In those days it took 8 year from the start to surgery but I have never regretted the amount of effort I had to do in order to reach my new life. There will still be problems ahead but you have made a big step forward and we can and will help you when possible. If there is anything I can help you with, let me know.

Thanx. I feel like I'm a newlywed with myself. I see photos of myself from just a year ago and I can't believe how much I've changed. Everyone here is so nice and pretty. Hopefully I can fit right in once I'm allowed to post pictures.  ;D

Welcome! We are so glad to have you!
I know what you mean about the newlywed thing.
I am still looking in the mirror and amazed at what I see and I haven't even begun physical changes yet...just simply admitting to myself who I am. I *feel* 10 years younger even if I don't look it yet. Hehe.

Anyway, hope we see more of you around.

*hugs*
