Got my haircut today which always puts me in a good mood. Plus my barber noticed I was on T  ;D. I didn't think the changes were particularly noticeable; but she noticed my voice was deeper and my face looks sqaurer. As she put it it's amazing how last time I saw her two months ago the changes weren't noticeable  (I was only a month on T) and now 3 months on T you can see the difference. So yeah I'm a very happy trans guy :)

Elis glad some one notice your transition. Today I visit Gender Therapy counseling for the first time, and she order blood test for my hormones level. I will return next week to discuss my result. Fingers cross.

On my way to work I planned to post this in the happy and sad thread, although happy and terrified would be more accurate. The other day I bought my first real bra
I've been wearing sports bras. I resolved to wear it to work today. Of course I woke up this morning to frozen pipes. I almost gave it up but I won't walk out of the house unshaven. I used my night table water to brush my teeth and ran out my Keurig heating water to shave. Somehow I managed. I really was worried about how people would react. Everyone was complimentary. Best of all, a customer flirted with me. A young, attractive customer flirted with 56 year old me! Too bad I'm a married lesbian, huh? <giggle!>

Got to take pictures of the the runners raising money for AIDS Project LA by running in the LA Marathon. So many people running in the marathon. Makes me want to start training to run in one.

I am happy from a really great weekend and past few days.

The weather was very nice all weekend, so I was able to get outside and take some long walks. Monday I had work, which went well. Tuesday was work again, plus a therapy session afterwards. What was nice and made me so happy was that I unequivocally and rightly and normal stated to my therapist (who knows I am trans) that I am a woman in my heart and mind. And there was absolutely no shame from myself about stating it out loud!

Plus, since I cannot drive a car, I was able to see how our public bus service worked out. It went great! So I am just riding a great high of happiness and proud of myself type feelings.

Well, more amused than actually happy. I was talking with my primary care physician and told him someone (actually my hair stylist) suggested biotin for my splitting nails. He said that it worked for some people. He then wrote me a prescription for it and for acrylic nail polish. Well, not really. No prescription for the nail polish, he just strongly recommended it. :D He also complimented me on being extremely healthy for my age and for losing weight over the winter, something few of his patients manage. I love my doctor! I also love my team of endocrinologists. Can't leave THEM out and have them pouting!

I wore a bra to work for the first time ever and I felt like myself I felt so good. I also had a good internal giggle when I was asked why I moved a lady's order to the other side of my register I told her because I might have unintentionally added it to the guy I rang up while she was getting something she had. forgotten and said he probably would not like getting home and finding out he had bought lipstick  and she started to lecture me about how people can transgender and I would be surprised at who and that point I said "yeah you never know" pointing at myself she got real quite I let her know she did not offend me and she left happy. I really was not offended and was greatful that people will stand up for us I made sure I told her that.

I guess this made me happy. To a degree it only !made me perplexed. I was doing laundry in the common laundry room when a neighbor came in and began doing his. I was dressed androgynously because, well, just because. I was being my normal self and wondered the whole time "does he think I'm a woman? A gay man?" We talked about the complex, our families, places we had lived. When we he was done and I was folding he came over, put out his hand and said. Have a good day, I'm (name)." I responded, "nice to meet you, I'm Dee." Wow did that throw me for a loop! "Dee" not "Dion". When did I internalize my nickname enough to offer it to strangers at first meeting? Previously I had only let people use it after I had known them a while.

Just in! I'm sitting in the break room before my shift and the head of personnel came in to change the birthday bulletin board to march. She then came over to my table and quietly said, "come into personnel when you have a moment and we'll change your gender in the records and make a new badge if you like"!

I talked to one of the other trans women here and she got the same offer. I think they're trying to head off complaints about us using the staff ladies room. I'll take it! My new badge says "Dee"!

I've been running a weekly baking group at a women's shelter over the last month or so, this week was the fourth group I've ran.
Due to me being untrained (for now) I've always had a staff member with me by my request, the woman who's helped with this told me today that she thinks I'm ready to spread my wings & run the group solo.
She told me she's very impressed with the way I put the women at ease & with the calm way I handle the often awkward questions that arise due to me being trans.

I'm now booked in for 3 training groups next week & my baking group will soon be rolled out to another women's shelter, happy days
