My endocrinologist suggested I come here, so here I am, started my transition today, Aldactone daily and Estradiol patches that I should change twice a week, I am very curious on what will happen, when you go to youtube or online there are so many versions, my doc tells me it is different for everyone, most see no changes until after 6 months, but online and in youtube you see people who claim changes happen after one month, two months, etc. some temperamental, some nipple pain, so who is right? Just curious, I will of course try to be patient and wait as long as it takes, but I can't help but be curious. Anyway, it would be great to hear your own particular experiences. I am glad to be here.

I'm pre HRT myself, so I can't give a personal experience quite yet, but you asked about the amount of time.  It varies.  Just about everything with HRT is different for everyone.  That's why some folks on YouTube are pretty interesting to watch in my opinion.  Lots of different experiences, so many possibilities!  Trust your endocrinologist.  They can't speed things up in most cases; they're there to make sure you safely go through HRT :)  If there's ever anything unusual, feel free to ask us for advice here, as well as those face-to-face sources :)

Welcome to Susan's ❤

Many *hugs*

P.S.  There was a wonderful list of *possible* side effects somewhere and *approximately* which order they would come up.  I'll try to find it and link you to it!  Just remember to take it lightly, as everyone has very diverse experiences :)

I don't have a clue how your body will respond to HRT. A woman may take as much as 10 years to reach full maturity and in my case, I still have a boyish figure. Other report a very full feminine figure within a couple of years. There is no way of knowing in advance what will happen. If you want to know what normal development is, google the "tanner scale" .

so who is right?

Your Dr. is right, HRT is different for everyone  :icon_yes:  The reason for that is because everybody is different to begin with and will have a variety of different results

One of the reasons we don't allow dosages is because everyone is different and should only use HRT while under a Dr.'s care

Some peoples bodies will react quickly, others may take a bit longer

Anyway, congrats on starting your journey and we look forward to hearing of your progress in the future

In the meantime, there are allot of great stories to read and friends to be made  ;D

Hugs
