Today was pretty awesome. Besides being quote here on Buzzfeed about how I chose my name, I also found out I am casted to be in a "Pronouns Matter" campaign video for Callen-Lorde.

I went to my endocrinologist yesterday for an overdue appointment and ended up getting a prescription for Androgel, which I'm excited about. No more shots.

My roommate also got the doctor's letter they needed to proceed with the process of getting a service dog. I'm super excited for them since they've been having a lot of trouble with their disabilities for a long time.

What a wonderful story, Sydney! Now you have an androgynous name like the rest of your family. Oddly, I and the other two trans women I work with also have androgynous names.

"Sydney" is more common as a girls name than a boys but both can use it. I also picked that name since I code a lot and having a more androgynous name in the IT world has it's advantages due sexism in the tech world. An example is this article:

My Sweetie is Jewish. Among her family and friends "S*dney" is more common for males, but I get your point. I was in IT from 1981 to 2006 and I definitely saw the sexism, not to mention the preference for single people willing to make their job their entire life.

I went for a meal to celebrate my brothers birthday, my 2 year old niece was there. We were given a buzzer to tell us when the table was ready & she insisted on holding it, when our table was ready my mum told her to "give it to the nice lady" & she ignored the waitress in front of her, turned around & went to give it to me. . . aww bless

Work wasn't as busy

Finally felt well enough to ride my bicycle to the store and back 

After 5 months on hormones i went out in public without makeup for the first time ever. I'm sure I got read a few times, but everybody was very accepting. It really made me feel that things are progressing well.

On Saturday morning whilst at the gym I had an epiphany: I was sitting near the mirrors and I looked over towards a (presumably) cis guy exercising in front of the mirrors who was looking at his reflection between sets. I saw him admiring his own body, and I realised I'm starting to get the first inklings of the same feeling myself. I thought: is this what it feels like to be cis? To look at your own body as it develops and think "Yeah, that's looking alright"? It's an alien feeling that I've craved for years but hadn't yet experienced... and now I'm starting to feel it myself.

had bariatric surgery in November. She's lost a lot of weight so today I helped her clean out her closet and came home with three bags of clothes including...




which you can also see in my new avatar with the jacket she also gave me!  Then we had tea and looked into laser, $129 for six sessions on her armpits (she's cis) and $400 for six sessions on my face and neck. Now all I have to due is figure out how to pay for it.

I started working out at the gym and making it a regular thing. I felt pretty good today. I'll probably be sore tomorrow, but it will be a good sore

I had a 5 or 6 year old girl say to me "I did not know boys wore nail  color!" I told her most boys don't but I do. I also asked her if she would be friends with a boy at her school if they wore it and she said yes I was happy

Getting my first Harley a week on Monday. Badass black 883 Sportster R. Bring yer leathers Cindy!

Found two pairs of pants today. I usually have troubles to find pants because apparently every guy is supposed to be much more robust than I am, not to mention my wonky proportions (my legs are somewhat long in comparison to my height, got that from my mom).
I also don't want slim fits and absolutely no skinny jeans so finding regular jeans was a big win. And the other pair has camo pattern, love it!

A couple of months ago, my GP told me that my cholesterol was worryingly high and he wanted to put me on statins. He said I had a 30% risk of having a heart attack within the next 10 years.

I had another review with him this morning: after changing my diet and increasing my gym attendance, my cholesterol has lowered to a level where he's no longer hugely worried about it. My risk of a heart attack has dropped to 6.5%.

So, no statins for me then. At least, not yet. 

I was having trouble finding a color corrector that would hide my beard and the orange lipstick trick caused me to overcompensate. Then I found a YouTube video about using a makeup base and lipstick to make a custom corrector. I took the lipstick that never worked right and some BB cream I had bought that was a shade too pale and it worked! Some of the result and a light coating of the proper BB cream and no visible beard shadow! That combined with finding a good laser tech 15 minutes away make me a happy girl!

I was just hired at an art gallery today because I was trans (at least one of the reasons) instead of being denied for the same reason like every other job I've applied for in the last year. This will be the first job I've had in four years now. I can't describe how happy and relieved I am right now. Everything else in life has been piling up against me and I was starting to feel suicidal again. This is the change I needed. 

Got my lard butt on the treadmill for the first time in months. I did it for 20 minutes. I am going to TRY and do 20 minutes each day. Of course, I've said this before and I have fallen off the wagon every time. Maybe I can keep it going. I don't know how this will go. But, at least it's a start.
