I am at once proud of my accomplishment and saddened on the other hand. I finally presented myself en femme to another human being, except Mom. A very big first step. But I chickened out about going in public. Maybe as I learn more I won't be so apprehensive. Maybe I'll try to blend in with a crowd of like minded individuals now that I know there are like minded individuals. It's really nice not to keep beating myself up.

Mell maybe slowly pushing limits ... not too much at once and not too few...

I spent a few weeks getting comfortable with being around one other person who I love dearly in private.

Once that felt good, I was off to the mall and never looked back.

Being comfortable and confident is the key to happy experiences.

It will come, and you will know when you are ready.

Better in my mind to take smaller confident steps rather than a giant leap and incite a panic attack and spend years recovering.  You took a step, not as big a step as you might have liked but you have a goal in mind and did something.  Yay for you!!!  What's a next good iterative step for you?  You and Dee visit a trans friendly bar/club and hang out for a bit (going with the theme of like minded individuals).  From there what seems like it will push your comfort zone.

Too bad we can't hang at church. Wouldn't that truly be answering God's call to civility, love and compassion? Somehow this is lost on them.
