I have been reading a lot about colon vaginoplasty in this groups and other sources and for what I understood, most people see this procedure as been something to use in case the penile inversion having complications. I heard lots of women complaining about the odor, that is really unpleasant, and other disavantages, and that penile inversion should be the first choice, or srs with skin graft. For what I´ve been researching, the only surgeon in Brazil that worth trying is Marcio Littleton, who uses a techinique taught by Dr João Décio Ferreira, that is pretty much the colon vaginoplasty using only the mucosa. So, because I was so insecure about the smell, I wrote him an e-mail, questioning that issue, he said (I'll try to translate as better as I can):
This techinique was criated in 1971 for women with vaginal atresia. In this case we don't use a portion of the bowel, as it is used in the colon graft srs, where the natural anaerobic bacterial flora is somewhat preserved, causing the semell. What we use is only the mucosa, and we reject the other parts. The microbiota of this segment ismade of Gram negative bacterias, so does not produce odor. The vaginas made of skin have odor because of queratin's putrefation. In the srs with mucosa graft, the smell will only occur if the patient has candidiasis or bacterial vaginosis, cause it functions like a normal vagina. In the other techiniques the vaginal canal is very different and doesn't work as a normal vagina.

I don't know if I should believe him, since he has a partial opinion. After all he want's to perform the surgeries to get paid.

I would not want that procedure due to possible problems with the colon which could occur.

Having penile/graft/inversion, it also has an odor. Even a cis vagina has an odor. Now I know where that fishy smell comes from: a mixture of urine, sweat, discharge and bacteria. Unless you clean it about 5-6 times a day, it will smell.

That's a no-go for me as well.   I had a colon resection and would never want to go through that recovery again.  Once was more than enough.

While my Doc's haven't said anything, but my having a much less than average size penis I'm wondering how they are going to create depth. I really wouldn't want my colon messed with.

OK....Now for a RLE.  IE:  Been there, done that.  I had that procedure done just about 30 years ago as a "revision/upgrade".   Initially my PI technique worked fine although yes, there were the usual "complications" with dilation and lube, although my first husband was highly sexual and so it seems like we had sex at least once day, so dilation ceased to be an issue.  I do remember an occasional order but it was more from the lube or my husband residual cum.

After our divorce the was a period of about two years during which I was relatively inactive and never went backed to dilating.  As I had been warned, things closed up to the point where when the opportunity for sex came up, I was not able to indulge.  I consulted with a Dr. Neal Wilson in Detroit, MI. and he promised a result that would be "smooth as silk".  Turns out he was not lying and today, 30 years later, it is still "smooth as silk".

The upside?  The obvious "naturalness" of the end result and no need for dilation or lube.  It is great for those spontaneous moments, no maintenance or preparation required.  Simple cleaning and/or douching is fine.

The downside?  Recovery while not particularly painful or traumatic was messy!  For several months there was a lot of mucoseous discharge requiring a sani-pad.  In addition there were, and occasionally still are issues with constipation but I have learned to ameliorate those by drinking lots of water and eating better:  IE, not more cheesy pizza and/or fatty foods.

So on balance, I would consider this procedure significantly better than the PI technique.

I am Dr. Marcio Littleton and the technique I use is not the Colon Vaginoplasty. Actually, I reverse the colon vaginoplasty and penile inversion techniques of many patients in Brazil. The mucosa I use for covering the vaginal inner walls is harvested from the Jejunum, a portion of the small bowel where the food from the stomach passes, there is no feces in this portion and it heals within 3 days. There is no belly scar for this technique. This technique is used for cis woman and trans woman, so if the penis is small there is no problem. It make a vagina with lubrication capacity, antibody igA secretion for self protection and it is elastic as the natural vagina. Colon vaginoplasty is not done because it has a belly scar, does not make an anatomical related organ, the bottom of the vagina is inside the peritoneum cavity, it still connected to the nerves that control the rest of the colon, for this reason it keep moving, it looks like a colostomy instead of a vagina and it has a great potencial for colon cancer. Well with colonvaginoplasty there were reports of people having some problems in the area where the colon tissue from the inside vagina meets the vulva, the newly created labia. Some had problems with contracting scar tissue.

Some other people had problems with the vagina itself, some surgeons use extra stitches to make the canal more stable.

There was a description recently by warlockmaker who went to PAI with the standard penile inversion.
OP you might look that up, and talk to the same surgeon.

Brassard is accredited in Michigan, all inclusive and with the CAD less pricey.

You might ask if it would be covered ... also other surgeons ...
if its kept confidential ...
and there might be other plans available who cover ...

I think it's really cool that you have come on here to reply, which you did with a lot of grace. I wish other surgeons, frankly, would respond both to positives and negatives. It's not that we'd want the place to become like trip advisor but it's better for having the explanations coming both ways. Thank you for explaining the procedure that you use.
