The people who it is appropriate for are non binary near the transsexual end of the scale but not transsexual.
I would hesitate to say this.
It seems to me like labeling someone's gender identity based on their gender presentation and body image.
In my opinion, people should not be labeled unless they choose the label themselves.

I'm sure this question has been ask a million times but how many people wish they could have bottom surgery in this case mtf but not transition.
I've read quite a lot of posts from people who want to alter their physical sex but not their presentation. Unfortunately, the therapeutic community is only just coming round to understanding the complexities of gender and huge variety of the way people experience being trans, and therefore the variety of therapies needed to help people feel comfortable.
From a practical point of view, the human body needs sex hormones to be healthy, so if you had bottom surgery, you would need to take hormones, either male or female in order to preserve your body chemistry.
There are thousands of men who go through life with a vagina (many trans men, for example) and manage to live comfortable lives. It does limits bathroom options and choice of romantic partners, so you'd need to incur those costs.
If you decided to go see a gender therapist, you probably should make sure it's someone who's somewhat open-minded and doesn't have a rigid model of transgender treatment.
