Did any of you who've had FFS have more extensive hairline scarring than anticipated? My surgeon took my stitches out on the third day and the incision spread downward to the point where even my eyebrow lift was undone. It's ugly as all get out, now the most prominent feature of my face and it has decimated my self-confidence.

Did you have scar revision? If so, any recommendations? It's my 911 gotta-get-this-done issue in life at the moment but I can find nothing about revising this particular scar, who's good to go to, and who won't bankrupt me.

I had a scalp reduction and brow lift to go with my bossing shave. I was bandaged for a whole week. When my surgeon took the bandages off, it looked like he sewed me back up with shoelaces. I had big Frankenstein stiches and was caked in blood. For the first month or so, I had red lines on my hairline like someone had drawn them on with a Sharpie.

Nearly a year later I am amazed how well I healed. You literally have to be 3 inches from my scalp to see any scarring, and that is on one side. The other side has no scar whatsoever. It takes a long time for total healing and your hair to grow back. How long ago was your surgery?

I wish it were inflammation, I'd be fine with that. I should specify, the surgeon removed the sutures only three days after surgery and the wound spread open over time. It is currently one centimeter high from top to bottom of the scar and it extends across my entire hairline.

This is something that'll need to be cut open, flesh removed, and then laced up again. I just can't find any examples of this severe a hairline scar being resolved.

my forehead scaring was quite aggressive. I would not say by any neglect of the surgeon. Just how my body reacted to surgery. I had another very well known surgeon do a scar revision 14 months after the original FFS. It did reduce the scar however I was left with a nuroma that is far worse than the scar was. Now 3 years after the revision once or twice a month a rasied goose egg sized swelling occours on one side or the other just above the outer corner of my eye and when touched sends pulses and spasms across the top of my scalp.

2 years ago I had 2500 neo-graphs done to cover the scar. It is now unsceen unless you peal my bangs back.

If you have the brow bossing then lowering the hairline. My stitches were done beautifully. I know my surgeon well and the critical element is when to  remove the stitches. After the surgery I had multiple visits by the surgeon and I understand that depending on how you recover the stitches are removed asap. Mine were removed some 8 days later. I can barely see my stitches. 

I'm not sure what the correction surgery would involve other than a restitch. I'm sorry to hear about this and it was one of my fears ...

Be sure you keep out of the sun as scars turn dark or bright red.

I find it very surprising that the stitches were taken out just three days later. I'd have thought a week would be more usual.

Did the surgeon also use dissolvable sutures? Some people can have an immune reaction to them, and I've read that they can also be weakened prematurely if exposed to peroxide.
