I've been on MTF hormones for almost a month, and have finally plucked up the courage to get my nipples pierced However, I'm wondering if it's a good idea, seeing as the hrt will probably make my breasts enlarge and buds form behind the nipple, which I thought might complicate their development :/ My nipples are also'shy' inverted nipples (which come out when cold or stimulated XD), so I was wondering if that'd have any effect (I've heard piercing is a good method of 'curing' inverted nipples)? Any help will be greatly appreciated! X

Its likely your boobies will get more sensitive and tender.
Some people have a milky discharge the first months.

I would probably give it it while, Mine have been pierced for years and I am noticing zero issues with them. It is a 6 month heal piercing, and that's if you are very studious. Just please do your research before you get it done. Find a reputable piercer and remember cheaper is not better. My friend just got hers done at the shop I frequent, and it was just over $100 installed, before tip. I'd also recommend straight barbells for the initial piercing, just easier to clean and heal much better. I'd hate for you to have to go through it twice. But on another note, once they healed they're the best piercings ever!

Definitely wait for HRT to do it's magic before getting them pierced. I had mine pierced 4 years prior to HRT and had to take them out after a year on HRT due to the nipples changing so much that the position of the piercing didn't look right any long. I asked my HRT doctor prior to starting HRT about them and she checked them on every checkup. She has originally told me that if they have been there for at least 2 years, that would be OK medically, but she said that I may end up removing them if they get too sensitive or don't look right. Both happened to me.

Another trans girl I know waited 4 years after HRT to get hers done and she didn't have any issues after waiting which was also advised by her HRT doctor.

Good idea on holding off... I took mine out (had them BEFORE HRT. And trust me it did not feel good once I started getting sensitive. >_<
