Mentally i feel more calm with myself not sure if it is the med's or the known of i finally get to become the person i always wanted to be. As far as physical changes only couple of things is using the bathroom more often, chest soreness, and more tired. I have a few women's clothes not much kind of waiting on seen what the med's do. I dress about 90% in women cloths when i and home and feel great. were a little outside of the home waiting on to be more passable to wear more often. Im hope for any advise you can give me. Thank you very much.

Welcome to Susan's Place. We have all the information you could use and many people who are willing to help. You only need to post your problem and somebody should turn up with an answer pretty soon. At 6'2" and 145 pounds you match my starting numbers so I expect you will want to put on between 10 and 20 pounds over the next 2-3 years as you have little fat to work with. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Welcome, Karivh!  ;D

I am going on my first full week after being on and off HRT for many years. Nevertheless, I still remember when I was self-medicating my own HRT at doses that were never monitored by a healthcare professional, I felt all my anger and pent up tension seem to fizzle away.

Was it power of suggestion? Was it finally being content? Or was it that the testosterone had finally lost its grip over me? In my opinion, it was a mixture of all of those combined.

I'm a naturally effeminate homosexual male, so in my world, I found it easier to dress very "metro," get my nails done, gravitate toward the company and inner-bonding of women, wear female shoes, and ... well ... not outright deny who I was but not outright showcase it for everyone.

That's my life experience to date, and yours will vary greatly. Be proud of who you are, embrace your many qualities, and soak up all the resources you can as you travel down your own, unique journey.

Warmest wishes,

Princess

hello Karivh, welcome here :)
The first weeks, even on spiro only, felt so good, it cleared my head, went from constant rainy day to bright sunshine, then E's action a few weeks later was I would say as strong but not as upfront, more in the background and slowly working... as where I really felt the vanishing of testosterone like a big strong draft clearing the dust...

Sounds like a good start to HRT and you seem happy enough so only advice is the best...... Enjoy  :)

I have just started my HRT 4 days ago. I am taking spironolactone and estradiol. While I want to say there haven't been any changes because it is just too soon, yesterday (3rd day on hrt) I had, what for me seemed different.

I really seemed to be much more interested in having conversations. What was really different for me is that I enjoyed talking with strangers. While in the waiting room at a car dealer's service department I just started conversing with people as they came & left the waiting area. I didn't really notice it at the time, but afterwards I got to thinking how I seemed to enjoy it more then I have in the past. I have read how women enjoy conversation more than men and so maybe the HRT is changing me already.

The second thing is that I am less anxious then I normally am. I can tell because I have an ativan prescription and I seem to take one, it seems, 3 - 4 times a week. I haven't felt the need for one since starting HRT. Coincidence? Maybe, but perhaps HRT is working there too.

I also want to just say I can't believe I have the female hormone estrogen flowing through my body. I have read so much of how it can effect you emotionally and I hope my experience will be similar. Hopefully the two changes I have noted are the first of more feminine "feelings".

Yeah I'd defo agree on the whole talking to people thing. Amazing things happened in less than a week that I could never have imagined (like dreaming) so perfectly possible that significant neurological repairs done within a very short time.

Can't prove a thing but I feel like it gave me a full rewire in less than a month. Brain and body finally able to function together suddenly made everything I couldn't "get" before really easy.

I now seriously love talking to people whereas previously I would have hesitated to even ask for help if I was on fire.
