Maintaining Physical Well Being on HRT

I am about to start on HRT and would like to hear from anyone who has been on a physical regime and HRT. I currently power walk 3 miles, a minimum of 4 days a week and typically 5. Follow that up with 2 sets of push ups of 35 reps, and 2 sets of sit ups of 45 reps. I know that I can expect to lose some muscle mass and I am ok with that, what I do not want to lose if possible is the ability to maintain what I am currently doing. Am I asking for to much?

I too am interested in this topic.  I wouldn't mind losing a little mass in the shoulders but it's my abs that I don't want to go to flab.  I'm not "ripped" nor anything close but I don't want to get pudgy in the tummy.

I'm kinda hoping that my calfs (currently 18 inches / 46 cm) shrink. But since I bike a few thousand miles per year, I'm not holding my breath.

Maintaining abs is not a problem.  I let myself go and then worked back up to 4 sets of 50 sit-ups in a fairly short time.  Maintaining push-ups is harder but 2 sets of 35 is not unreasonable.  As for the six pack, that's mainly about maintaining low body fat which you can attain by eating less.

I walk about 7 miles (3.5 to and from work) a day and I am on my feet for nine hours doing light activity. Now I started doing this from doing nothing but laying around the house for several months and yes the first two weeks I was sore but, I adjusted and now it is normal. When I am at work and I need to lift something that is 50lbs I still can even though it is heavy to me whereas at one point that would have been light, but if I were to lift that much over and over again I would still get the ability to.

Hormones reduce your physical prowess, but they don't stop you from maintaining or even increasing your physical abilities it just means you have to work harder to do so than you might have been accustomed to before hormones.

Women can be athletic too. The difference is that testosterone encourages different and bulkier development of muscles.

I've seen women who are lithe and thin lift as much as some guys. Not the top end powerlifter guys but typical guys.

What HRT is going to do is change your biochemistry and that will encourage your body to distribute fat in more female patterns as well as encourage any muscle development to occur in female patterns.

This process is also slow! It won't happen overnight and if you continue your current regimen, you should notice no performance changes over time, just changes in shape and mass.
