Just today I reveled myself to what I thought would be a safe bet at work. She is a nice person but, Gods judgement kept coming in the back door. Her statements were repeated like a mantra your are going to account to God for this and it kept being repeated like she was hanging on to her sense of Christian standing. She was not too educated on transgendered folks I took care of that. Why do Christians feel this is soooo terrible. Gee, I wonder how lovelessness rates as a sin with God if that is your belief that God will judge you. I politely let her know I really love Jesus and that has never changed but, I would be delighted to have Jesus walk by my side I have nothing to hide! Unfortunately, I don't think she believed me even though she said she did. She hung pretty tightly on that judgement thing if that is the case then lets take real issues of lying, cheating, stealing, infidelity, and abuse of the poor those are choices of spiritually weak person as oppose what a transgendered person is born with by God. These are the real issues but, don't throw this cop out God will judge every individual really as if I don't have the right to feel good  and have a sense of pride about myself being born a transgender human being. Another name for this psychological warfare is toxic shame don't bite this hook!!!!!!!

Much Love To All Transgender People, God does really, really loves you and don't think otherwise!

Christian's tend to keep their mouth shut around me because I know the truth about Christianity and tend to scare the he'll out of just using the bible.

Isn't it funny how Christians know God's plan when it comes to gender and sexuality, but it's "God works in mysterious ways" on everything else?

Oh, the irony.

I had lost my faith. Everything was happening. I lost my Mom, my Dad and my wife all in the same year. I was diagnosed with heart disease at 42. Had a stroke at 44, CHF at 50. I had been praying for a sex change since I was a youngster, I thought what a cruel God to make me suffer like this. But you know, it may take a while but things seem to turn out when you leave the plan to the man. Last week my therapist asked If I would like HRT. I said yes. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that my prior condition does not interfere. It's been a long time since I said "Thank you Jesus"

Many Christians, particularly those coming from the more conservative sects, are fed a steady diet of cultural conditioning and news (many evangelicals love fox news for instance). This paints the world in very comfortable ways for them and sets up two groups: Those people (the unsaved) and us (the saved), and those two groups are always at odds with one another driven by the pesky satan and his minions.

So when confronted with cultural change the first thing they do is think about Joseph and Potiphar's wife - run. If they can't run categorize most of changes as potentially in the unsaved group's camp and then condemn it. They repeat to one another discriminatory and unloving statements about such groups and that helps them feel justified.

The Christian concepts of love thy neighbor, non-judgement, non-violence, taking care of the needy, loving the unsaved, etc are often lost on these people. They always seem to find nuances in situations as to why they don't apply. If there is such a thing as an anti-christ coming, i would not at all be surprised to find him in the ranks of evangelicals.

Some fundamentalists feel it is their personal directive from God to tell you how to live. I just remind them that many of the people they deride also believe in the same God.

They have a bigger problem than all that and it is biblical inerrancy.  They have convinced themselves that the Bible teaches that trans does not exist since:

Genesis 1:27.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Their faith is built on Biblical inerrancy.  To acknowledge that trans is a real phenomenon and not a sinful aberration is to admit the Bible is mistaken and that it does not contain all truth.  This would seriously undermine that core tenet of their faith which they have believed their entire lives.  For most, this is an impossible step to take.

My parent work for the church i tried to get them to come over to talk so i could come out to them but were to busy so i sent an email. They could come over fast enough with we will support you no matter what choice you make but think about what your doing, wait till the kids are older, sex change is going against god, how will work take it etc. Then at the end said you have a lot to think about. This is before i could say anything so i told them i am transgender its not a choice and im already on hormones. They were abit shocked and said they would catch up with me every two weeks that was four months ago havent seen them since

I grew up in a Christian family.  Both parents were and are still very devoted Christians.  Although I grew up with a strong faith, I had some serious doubts about that faith during my college years.  Those were troubled times, and it got to a point where I was literally screaming and cursing at God to show Himself to me, to prove He is real.  And, in an almost supernatural experience, He did.  That experience solidified my faith for life.

I'm now transitioning and unashamed to be called transgender.  But I'm also unashamed to be called a Christian.  Yes, I've read the entire Bible and I know what it says.  At first it was very difficult for me to reconcile my gender identity with my faith identity, but I'm at peace with both now.

Sadly, too many so-called Christians get bogged down on legalism instead of the overriding message of God's love.  It's not unlike the Pharisees of Jesus' day.  There are many false Christians out there.  Please don't dismiss all Christians just because of the hateful opinions of the fake ones.

Touché!!! Couldn't agree more!! Reason why 'atheism' and the 'ilk of ISIS are so prevalent is because most so-called "Christian Fundamentalism" is hypocrisy/PC based, chock full of contradictions (like self-interest)

I do NOT believe in human "wretchedness" any more than singular, otherworldly "salvation".

We're ALL in this together!. Emily, ever read "The Shack"?? I too have personally witnessed the overwhelming touch of God and have found my story, among others, actually foretold in The Bible.

"Trans" is a blessing not a curse It all depends on what one chooses to do with it!!
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

In this context, it's interesting that there are two categories of people that Jesus was explicitly against. Namely, holier-than-thou fundamentalists and people making money on religion. He had no problems associating with various outcast groups.

Also, 'So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.' This paints a picture of God that looks rather non-binary to me, but then I'm biased that way. ;)

Hi,

As I was zipping along the corridors of life, I wanted all that God could give me, but none of the hardships. God apparently had other plans.

Like two of you above, and very much not uncommon with God and the LGBTIQQ community, He God decided that it was not beyond Him nor me, (eventually as this took awhile for me to adjust), to have some One on one contacts with me. (And a major church with 1,000,000,000 members, has actually officially validated many of those contacts, then went totally mum on that issue, just like the gay priest that Jesus married mystically more than a hundred years ago.)

We are very much, (I am an old, late transitioning, transgender female.), a part of God's world and Loved by Him and accepted by Him.

I can say much more. I just finished, my other assignments, and have some spare time to be here.

In general, haters hate, say the non Christian world. And they are very correct. In Christianity, that group has another name, they are wolves in sheep's clothing. They are outed by their meanness also. Thorns and briars are mean women and mean men, in Christianity. (Matthew 7:15-16.)

Some of you above have mentioned that mean people effect in so called Christians. You mentioned that you have seen it.

I have two close personal transgender friends. They both have had 'God Encounters Of The Close Kind' And it seems that contrary to what some people have said about God and the transgendered, their Encounters do not involve a God that is against their transgendered status, but rather one that affirms their ->-bleeped-<-. You should hear of the lesbian that I know of, who at age six or so started seeing Jesus. I have her story too.

For so called Christians. Genesis 1:28 and Romans 13:1-5, plus all of your love statements, like God is love, and we are all sinners with no one being a worse sinner than the other person, are not followed by them.

Geneisis 1:28, is God's Command to us, through a Blessing, to do science. To subdue the earth requires science. To fill it requires science. Do anti-LGBTIQQ Christians even know God Commanded them to do science? I have found none that do so far.

Look at the implementation of science. Look at Governnent Laws. Governments use science to govern. Even our lowly sewage systems are a government usage of science. And those lowly sewage systems have done just what one would expect from laws that God made, that we are to follow. They have done so much good, that human life expectancy is greatly enhanced by sewage treatment alone, let alone other government things.

That is just a clue as to the benefits of actually knowing and following Romans 13:1-5. We, all Christians, are to follow the government's laws. God says, that He makes those laws also.

I am legally, government wise, transgendered, through Medicare. Christians are demanded by God to follow that decision, as coming from God.

Do Christians do that?

LGBTIQQ, has pretty much been deemed to be a science issue. Gay Marriage, Biblically, is now to be followed, after The Supreme Court made it a law of the land.

There is more. This is enough. Any Christian who opposes LGBTIQQ, on Biblical grounds, does not really know God nor the Bible. Some of them shout that out, loudly. Normal Christuans, who actually know God, listen and love, quietly, just like many of you have said, or alluded to.

Sorry to hear about this experience with this fundamentalist Christian. Fundamentalism is a disease and leaves no room for dissenting opinions and viewpoints.

Most Christians I know now don't mention their mythical beliefs around me because they know I'll correct them given I probably have a higher education on their beliefs than they do after studying Christianity and Islam from a historical approach at York University.

I had lost my faith, or never really had it since puberty.  Yet somehow, HRT restored my faith and brought me back to a God I now know is real.
