Is this a normal dosage?

So I started T recently and I'm a bit bothered, or confused, about my dosage and mood.

Now I told my doctor that I've struggled with controlling my temper lately, something I've been good with. It's just that my living situation has significantly changed to something I'm not used to. A few months of this and it's beginning to show.

So anyway, my temper is a concern so my doctor started me off on a lower dosage. But is the dose normal? It's .01 once a week.

I guessed it was since I'm always 115-123lbs, as I literally don't gain weight, and 5'6 but is it normal to be on that dose? Especially considering I am very healthy and in shape.

doses vary from person to person. i wouldn't worry about it if it is what your doctor put you on to control your temper. it's good you told your doctor, and keep being that open because it will help you figure out the right dose for your body because everyone is different. even if someone was the same weight/height as you their dose could be very different.

LatrellHK,

I had originally edited out your dosage information. One of the other moderators pointed out that there were no percentages included. I have returned your post to it's original form. My Apologies.

However, I would greatly suggest you talk to your endo. If you would like another opinion, you should see another doctor. I am not aware of anyone on our site that can diagnose or prescribe for other members.

With warmth,

Many endos start out with a low dose.
Many start with half or a third of a regular dose, or even less, and get higher after a few months.
This might help getting used to it and see how it makes people feel.
Additionally the larynx might expand more naturally this way, helping with voice later. There are a few blogs of trans men who looked into that and are happy with the results. They are singers and as said they are content with a slower start.

If after some time your mood stabilizes and you want a bit better results you might talk with them about it.
It may also help avoid monthlies so you might discuss with them.

It's low, but most doctors will start you on a low dose anyway. If they don't, it's likely to induce fatigue and hot flashes and all sorts of other menopause-like symptoms. Best to ease you into it. If you expressed to them that you had additional issues like your temper, I could definitely see starting you off very low and then ramping it up over time if there are no negative impacts to your mood.

I always recommend keeping a notebook with your shot stuff. Write down any changes you noticed in between shots, and take this with you to your doctor's appointment. You can flip back through and say "Hey, I've got a deeper voice, my body hair is filling in, I have some downstairs growth. No acne or changes to skin, no negative moods that weren't externally caused. Can we bump my dose up?" It's much easier to ask if you've been keeping track of everything and have "evidence".

Thanks for the comments, this has been bugging me for some time.

So far, I've been taking pictures and recording videos of any changes, as well as writing them down. Since I just started, its hard to see if there are truly any changes but I'll be sure to mark them down.

this has gotten me a bit confused. My syringes are in ml/CC. Is there syringes in onces?  0.1 ounces? that seems a like lot. that's almost 3ml/cc. I doubt you inject that much weekly. Also depends on the concentration of your T. Some are 100mg per ml. Some 200mg per ml. If your T is more concentrated you will inject less.

Edited cause I can't read, and when I learn how to read I will realize 0.01 is NOT the same as 0.1...

In any case. Low doses for the first couple months is not out of the ordinary. I was on Andriol (CDN oral form) low dose for 2 months before going to the IM therapeutic dose

I got started on half a dose every two weeks, then I was supposed to start on a full dose every two weeks. However, my blood test results showed that my T level was quite high and now I just take a full dose every month. It varies from person to person how much T you need to get your testosterone to the desired level and not go over which raises your estrogen too, so you always start on the lower dosage. It's different for everyone so don't stress.
