Hey Oz; you do look sorta young for your age but so do most trans men; pre or post T; so nothing to worry about. I thought your hair was black too and it does suit you. I tend to think when dying your hair any colour you have to make sure you go to a professional place and spend quite a bit of money; so not ideal for your current situation. Dying your hair blond is especially tricky because you have to make sure your skin is fair enough and you get the right shade. So I'd say go back to brown.
Hello Elis! I've always felt a little odd, with how young I look, but I have also noticed that it seems to be a common thing with trans men. It seems to be a family thing too, my older brother is nineteen but looks about sixteen... He only starts to look mature when he lets his facial grow. Same for my father; has always looked younger. Guess it becomes a good thing when you start getting old

Everyone thinks my hair is black, so let's just say it is.

In the sunlight you can see a slight shimmer of blue. Spending money on my hair and going to a salon isn't a problem at all - I'm in care, so it's all covered. They get a budget to spend. If I ask, they can book an appointment for me to go and have my hair bleached and then dyed back to brown.
As I'll need it bleached regardless, I might take it in steps. See how it looks, then if it looks bad, go to brown. I do think brown would look more natural and help that little bit with passing. I've only ever met two boys with blond hair in my life time. Not common here.

I didn't think it looked like a bowl cut; more like the sorta hair style you saw men in the 90s sporting; but in a good way. Few are able to pull it off.
I don't think there's any such thing as being able to 'pull off' people calling you by your male name. People need to learn it's not a special need to be referred to by another name and pronouns than the one you were assigned with. It's a necessity when you're trans.
ah thanks! I kinda like my cut too, I'm making it work. The less I do with it, the more I pass.
When it comes to male name and pronouns: being in care makes it a bit more complex. Firstly, they need to ask permission from my social worker and my Camhs worker. They both take the role of parent, as there's nobody else around to consent, and decide what can and cannot happen. So, we're waiting for that. I've asked about being called a he instead, but I've been told it might not be able to happen because "you haven't had the surgery... So until then, you're still a girl. You're still a she." ._. Then there's the fact that me and my keyworker need to explain to everyone, staff and children, what the hell is going on. Why I'm suddenly being called Ozzy.

I thought you passed well in the picture with the hoodie. In that picture, I saw a 12-15 year old boy. I like the haircut and I don't mind the colour.
thank you very much! I went out today in that hoodie, and passed! For the first time ever!! I couldn't believe it!! I had to act cool about it, but OMG I'm over the moon!!!!
